Grizzly Gazette
September 13, 2024 - FUN RUN EDITION
Thanks for another great week here at Greenwood!
This week's Gazette is all about our upcoming FUN RUN which is the PTO's most important fundraiser. All funds raised bring amazing things to our school like special events, books, upgrades to the school, and so much more! See below for how you can support this fundraiser while winning fun prizes and experiences for your students!
Students have all have been doing an amazing job so far, and we’re so close to hitting our target. But to get there, we need everyone’s help!
So, what happens if we reach our goal? Well, get ready for some serious fun! Here are the three awesome prizes you’ll get to choose from:
- Ms. McNally on the Roof: That’s right! If we hit our goal, Ms. McNally will work from the school rooftop all day. Imagine her up there, waving to everyone, and you’ll get to see it all from the ground. It’s going to be epic!
- Inflatable Costume Fun: How about this for a giggle? Ms. McNally will wear a hilarious inflatable costume all day while she works. Picture her bouncing around in a giant costume—how funny would that be? It’s going to be a day full of laughs!
- Pie in the Face: And here’s the big one—a drawing will decide which lucky kids get to put a pie in the face of Ms. McNally and Ms. Dani! This will be a super silly and messy event, and it’s all for a great cause.
So, what’s it going to be? It’s up to all of you to help us reach our goal so we can see which of these awesome prizes we get to enjoy. We know you can do it, and we can’t wait to see which prize you pick!
Keep up the great work, and let’s make this Fun Run the best one yet!
Thank you, and let’s go get that goal!

Safety & Security
Below is an outline of our new entry procedures for the all Lakeview buildings districtwide, which will take effect on the first day of school (August 26th). These updates are being implemented to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
New Procedures:
Entry: To maintain security, no adult can enter the main office without an appointment or scheduled event. Families must remain outside and show their IDs to the camera for the secretaries to verify via PowerSchool records.
QR Code: A QR code will be posted with information about specific situations or scenarios. When scanned, the QR code will direct you to a form, which will be reviewed promptly, and an appointment will be created if needed.
Student Early Pick-Up: If you need to pick up your student(s) early, please come to the main office and show your ID through the camera at the entrance. You’ll then wait outside for your student to be dismissed. The secretaries will document the pick-up, including the reason and time.
Dropping Off Items: If you need to drop off something for your student(s), a green cart will be available in the vestibule. This is where you can leave items like lunches, gym shoes, etc. We will provide markers and masking tape so you can label the item.
Scheduled Meetings: If you have a scheduled meeting, Mrs. Dani will confirm your appointment via our speaker system and check that it is on the schedule. Feel free to call ahead to confirm or schedule an appointment.
As we implement these new procedures, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding. Our priority is to keep the building safe while ensuring you have a positive experience at Greenwood. These measures are designed to minimize variables and enhance the security of our school community. Thank you for your cooperation!

All students have access to free breakfast and lunch, every day! Breakfast will open at 7:45am in the cafeteria before school begins each day. Please have your student in line by 7:55 if they are having school breakfast. Students should enter through the 5th grade entrance on the above map for breakfast.

This must be completed every school year.
