GRADE 6 NEWS

MCAS is Thursday 4/3 and Friday 4/4. Please encourage students to get a good night sleep and to eat a hearty breakfast. We will allow students to have up to 3 pieces of hard candy and 1 or 2 pieces of gum to help with focus during the test. Any candy or gum should be unwrapped and in a plastic bag to avoid noise during the test.

MCAS testing for English is as follows:

Grade 7 - 4/1 & 4/2

Grade 6 & 8 - 4/3 & 4/4

MCAS testing for Math is as follows:

Grade 7 - 5/5 & 5/6

Grade 6 & 8 - 5/7 & 5/8

Grade 8 only, STEM & Civics MCAS - 5/13 & 5/28

The 6th Graders will be going to the Christa McAuliffe Center on April 14th and 15th. The class will be split into two groups, 1/2 of the students will attend the 14th, the other half will attend on the 15th. Fliers were sent home last week, and additional copies can be accessed on the All Things 6th Grade Google Classroom.

GRADE 7 NEWS

Seventh grade did an amazing job with their STEAM Fair projects! Seventh graders will start our MCAS Bonanza on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings next week!

Coming up soon is our seventh grade field trip to The Hall at Patriots place.

GRADE 8 NEWS

Annual meet-up for MCAS breakfast at Country Kitchen on Thursday morning before school!

Millis High School would like to welcome the parents of the rising 9th-grade students to join Principal Patrick Nash, the School Counseling Department, teachers, and current MHS students, as they give a brief overview of the differences between Middle School and High School in Millis on Thursday, April 10th. Before the presentation, students and parents are welcome to attend the ice cream social and high school club showcase in the cafeteria from 6-6:30pm, where they can learn about the various clubs available at the high school and enjoy free ice cream! Following the showcase, the presentation will begin promptly at 6:30pm, where the principal and counselors will be explaining the course selection process, schedule, activities, clubs, credit requirements, and supports available in the high school.

We look forward to seeing everyone on April 10th, and to welcoming the Class of 2029 as they begin the process of transitioning to life as a Millis High School student!

The Millis Middle School Student Council is excited to bring you Mini Golf! Bring family and friends and putt your way through the hallways of Millis Middle/High School. There will be snacks available for sale and all proceeds will be put towards purchasing outdoor play equipment for the school.

We wanted to share that the 7th grade Millis Boys Destination Imagination Team came in first place at the Middle School Level tournament this past weekend! The team is Charlie R., Max K., Jack G., Enzo D., Will V., and Parker H.

Grade 8 Dance will be Friday, June 6, 6:30-8:30pm in the cafeteria or gym

Boston Whale Watch Field Trip, Tuesday, June 10th

Promotion Rehearsal & Luncheon, Wednesday, June 11

Promotion Ceremony will be on Thursday, June 12, 10-11AM in the auditorium

Most people shared they have no preference on the scheduling of the dance and promotion on the same day or not.

We cherish your children and want to make their graduation from middle school a memorable experience.

Millis athletics is switching from NFHS to HUDL starting February 4th. Watch girls and boys basketball along with other sports in the fall and spring by installing the HUDL app on Apple or Android. In addition, the app can be found on SMART TVs like Roku, Amazon Fire Stick and more. No subscriptions needed for the rest of the 24-25 school year. Many schools have gone to HUDL (might require subscription for their home contests), but some might still use NFHS, so please check both.

Three of our Millis Middle School students have had their work selected for the statewide Youth Art Month celebration show hosted virtually by the Massachusetts Art Education Association. Please use the link above to view their work. On each slide, you will also have the opportunity to leave "fan mail" for any artist. Please consider taking a moment to send a positive note to keep these students excited to continue their artistic journeys.

Make sure to save the date for our annual K-12 Art Show taking place on April 16 from 5-7pm in the MS/HS cafeteria. View the show then stay for amazing performances in the Solo/Ensemble Concert starting at 7pm in the auditorium.
