On Monday, January 27, 2025, the Culpeper County School Board appointed Austin Pickett to the role of Activities Director at Eastern View High School effective July 1, 2025.

Pickett, who has been part of Culpeper County Public Schools since 2019, brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and dedication to student success. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and a Master of Arts in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). In addition, he earned a Certificate in Educational Leadership from James Madison University.

Pickett began his career as a science teacher at Culpeper County High School, where he also served as an assistant football and lacrosse coach from 2019 to 2023. He transferred to Eastern View High School in July 2023 as a science teacher and assistant athletic director, while continuing his role as an assistant football coach.

An active member of the Virginia Interscholastic Athletic Administration Association (VIAAA) and the National Interscholastic Athletic Administration Association (NIAAA), Pickett earned his Registered Athletic Administrator (RAA) certification in July 2023. His commitment to professional growth and collaboration within the field of athletic administration is a testament to his passion for supporting student activities and athletics.

Outside of his professional career, Mr. Pickett is supported by his wife, Rachel, a CCPS teacher, and their four-month-old son, Austin "Alexander" II. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, shark fishing, and spending time with his family in the Outer Banks.

“I am excited to serve the students and families of Eastern View in this new role starting in July,” Pickett shared. “EVHS has a proud tradition of excellence in athletics and activities, and I look forward to building upon that legacy.”
