Mercer Memo
Tiger Families: January 5-12, 2025
Welcome Back Tigers!
I hope this message finds you well and recharged after a restful winter break. As we begin the new year, I am filled with enthusiasm and optimism. I am confident that together we will continue to achieve great things for our students.
Let's embrace the opportunities that lie ahead, celebrate our successes, and support our students and staff as we strive for excellence in all we do. Here's to a wonderful year!
SCHOOL BEGINS MONDAY, JANUARY 6
Small School. Big Opportunity.
A lot happened before the break, so check out the highlights below:
Holiday Musical Program
Mrs. Kirch and Mercer students put on a wonderful performance for the holidays on December 18.
Santa and Mrs. Claus Visit Mercer School
After the winter musical performance, Santa and Mrs. Claus provided cookies, punch, and gifts for the children. Below are a few snapshots of children with Santa.
Santa's Helpers Deliver Gifts
Of course Santa's visit wouldn't be complete without the elves.
Leos Club Makes Sure All Is Merry and Bright
Students belonging to the Mercer Leos Club spread cheer by singing carols in classrooms before the holiday break.
Wellness Committee Survey
The Wellness Committee at Mercer School is required to make a recommendation to the Board regarding District policies on snacks provided as part of class parties, birthday snacks, and other celebrations. Snacks that are sold must follow the Smart Snack policy, but that does not apply to food that is provided and not sold. The Wellness Committee wants to hear from students, parents, and the community before making a recommendation so that the policy is aligned with community values. You can assist by completing the anonymous survey below:

Attendance Matters
For children and teens, attending school isn’t just about getting an education. It’s about developing their whole selves—emotionally, socially, and personally.
Attending school regularly and in person gives students the ability to follow daily routines, as well as connect with friends, peers, teachers, and others outside their family circle. They’re able to engage and interact, to use their brains and try new things. They can be part of a team. They have a purpose.
Help your child be their best self. Promote good attendance.
