Interim Reports Feb. 7, 2025
We are already well on our way to the midpoint of the third quarter which means Q3 interim reports will be coming out soon- February 7, 2025. In the time until then, please check on your child’s progress using PowerSchool. If your child is struggling in a class, your first step is to reach out to your child’s teacher(s). They are working diligently with their students towards success.
Course Recovery for Middle School
Students who did not earn enough quality points in Q1 and Q2 will begin course recovery in February after FTE Week. Students earn quality points based on their grades. A=4 quality points; B= 3 quality points; C= 2 quality points; and D= 1 quality point. Students earn ZERO points for an ‘F’. If your child did not earn a minimum of two quality points in their core classes, they will be involved in course recovery. Students who do not pass all core classes in Middle School (6th,7th,and 8th grade) may not be able to enroll directly in High School without some form of remediation. Please review the attached Quality Points Presentation for more information.
ESOL Information
ELL students will be taking the paper-based ACCESS for ELLs between January 20, 2025 and March 14, 2025. ACCESS for ELLs measures your student’s progress in listening, speaking, reading, and writing English language skills. Your student will receive an Individual Student Report that provides information about how well he or she is progressing in the English language.
Parent Referral Program
We are excited to announce that Franklin Academy is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 academic year, with the goal of achieving full enrollment at each grade level. To support this effort, we are launching a Parent Referral Program and encourage all of our current families to help spread the word and refer new families to our school.
By participating, families can earn service hours for each referred family that attends a campus tour. Additionally, new families will be entered into a drawing for a free Franklin uniform set upon enrollment.
Here’s how you can get involved:
- Pick up referral postcards at the front office or access digital copies on our website and in our weekly newsletter.
- Share the postcards in person, via social media, text, or email.
- Encourage referred families to attend a campus tour with completed materials.
Franklin Academy is known for its high academic standards, consistently exceeding district and state performance benchmarks. With our dedicated teachers, small class sizes, and unique IB World School designation, we ensure that your child receives the best possible education.
Thank you for being an integral part of our community and for helping us grow and strengthen the Franklin family!

February's Learner Profile Attribute of the Month-Inquirer
Students who are INQUIRERS are curious about the world. They can conduct research independently. They love learning and discovering new things and will carry this love of learning with them throughout life.
How can parents help to develop students who are Inquirers at home?
Visit places that spark inquiry like a museum, park or nature preserve.
Explore the areas of your child's interest by visiting the library to borrow books.
Develop an understanding of the Internet. Work with your son or daughter when the Internet is being used and try to instill the understanding that some internet sites are not reputable.
Model being an inquirer. Ask questions and wonder!
Praise your child for asking a question
Have your child jot down their wonders in a journal. Spend time researching these wonders!
