Has your child mentioned the goals that they set for themselves? Be sure to ask them about their individual and class goals. You might be surprised how much they can tell you about what they are working on at school.
Warmer weather means a greater need for students to have water bottles. Please send your child to school with a water bottle each day. Also, please consider playground safety when considering foot wear. Tennis shoes really are the best choice for school.
There will be lots of information coming home in the next few weeks, please contact us if you have any questions. If we can support you in any way, please let us know. It is a joy to be working with you!
Truly,
Denise Kott

Dress Code Reminder
Now that the weather is warming up, we wanted to remind parents & students of the Holly Area Schools dress code. The following is taken directly from the elementary handbook.
DRESS CODE
Students’ dress and grooming must not disrupt the educational process, interfere with the maintenance of a positive teaching/learning climate, or compromise reasonable standards of health, safety and decency. For example, but not limited to: make-up, bare midriffs, jeans riding low (exposing under garments) without a belt, tight fitting clothes, inappropriate wording/phrases on t-shirts, jewelry, and extreme hair coloring/styles. We expect students to dress appropriately. Shorts are allowed in hot weather. Please keep them fingertips or longer in length. Tank top straps must be 3 finger tips wide. Hats/hoods may not be worn during the instructional day (exception when transitioning in/out of the building). Flip flops may not be worn in the gym or on the playground, please provide a change of shoes for these areas. Tennis shoes are best for gym activities and playground safety.
PTC Election TIme

Leader in Me Habit 8: Find Your Voice
The Leader in Me Section: Habit 8 Find Your Voice
There is an additional habit that not everyone knows, Habit 8, Find Your Voice. Finding your voice is about finding something that you are good at, passionate about, and really like doing. Then you use this habit to help and inspire others.
To work on Habit 8 Find Your Voice at home: Talk to your child about what they are good at and enjoy. Make a plan for how they could use this to help or inspire others. How can they use this to make a positive difference for someone else?
