Rocket Update November 18th
Week 15 π
Hey Rose Lane Families!
Please make sure to check out the message from our counselor down below. She has provided some great ideas for helping your kiddos to find time to show gratitude each day. With this month being a month about giving thanks, it is extremely relevant.
I have also included information regarding our Thanksgiving Sharing opportunity below. If you are able to, please provide any donation amount that works for you. We appreciate your help!
This Saturday the 23rd, we will have our Turkey Trot event from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. Ms. Gulick, our PE teacher will be creating a 1 mile course for our kiddos and families to run or walk together. It was an exciting event last year and we hope to see many of you there!
Finally, I wanted to thank all of you that purchased some of our amazon wish list items for our teachers and students! We can't thank you enough for helping us to provide prizes to our kiddos and much needed items for our teachers. If you are interested in our wishlist I have included the link below. Thanks again everyone and have a great week!

Message from Our Counselor π
Research shows that feeling and expressing gratitude is associated with many mental and physical health benefits. Feeling thankful can improve sleep, mood and even immunity. Gratitude can also decrease feelings of depression and anxiety! Focusing on positivity and things you are grateful for releases oxytocin, which is a hormone that helps connect people⦠so gratitude also helps with relationships! Gratitude is kind of magical! Practicing being grateful and teaching your children ways to make gratitude part of all of your daily lives is a gift that will keep on giving.
If you want to keep feeling thankful even after Thanksgiving, here are a couple of ways to get started:
The Mayo Clinicβs Free: Discover Gratitude Program
Start A Daily Gratitude Journal
Try Guided Meditations focused on Gratitude (Apps suggested: Insight Timer, Calm)
Think or talk about something you are thankful for before every meal or before bedtime.
Model Gratitude for your kids. Article from American Psychological Association
