Fremont Feature: Social Emotional Health and Wellness
In connection with our strategic goal area of a Safe, Healthy & Connected Culture, Fremont School District 79 has developed a social emotional learning committee to examine best practices for supporting our students and families. In this episode of the Fremont Feature, we share a sampling of some of the resources that are available as support for our FSD79 community. Please watch below to learn more. Standards-Based Grading Webinar
FSD79 hosted a Parent University webinar for families on April 15 on the topic of standards-based grading. District administrators shared key components related to standards-based grading implementation and what it means for our students, including insights related to determining grades, gradebook (TeacherEase) navigation, and a host of additional resources. Share Your Teacher & Staff Appreciation — Monday Deadline
May 6-10 is Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. Fremont teachers and staff work so hard to support our students’ learning and well-being. You are invited to fill out the form below if you would like to recognize a staff member for their positive efforts. We will be sure to pass along the good news. Thank you in advance for sharing your encouraging words. This opportunity will be open through May 6.
Middle School Seeking Career Day Speakers
Fremont Middle School 7th grade students will be participating in a Career Day on May 29 and we are looking for your help! To make this happen, we need volunteers to come and speak to small groups of students about their job. A schedule with more information will be provided as the date gets closer. For now, please indicate your interest in speaking to students by completing this Google form. Thank you for your time and help in creating an authentic learning experience for our students!
Summer Adventures in Learning - REGISTRATION CLOSES FRIDAY
National Student Clearinghouse - FSD79 Postsecondary Data
Have you ever wondered where our FSD79 students go after high school? The District continues to partner with the National Student Clearinghouse to compile postsecondary data to tell that story. Although the Clearinghouse cannot locate all former students it does have a high success rate. You may click here to see data from our former students who are currently between their freshman and senior year.

Traveling Art Show
Congratulations to all of our FSD79 students who had their work displayed at the recent consortium art shows at both Mundelein High School and Stevenson High School. Special congrats to sixth-grader Baanee, whose work was featured on the poster for the Stevenson event.
Born to Run
Fremont Middle School's track and field team competed in a meet at Woodlawn Middle School earlier this week. Good luck to them as they wind down their season!
A Visit from Our Mayors
We would like to thank Village of Hawthorn Woods mayor Dominick DiMaggio and Village of Wauconda mayor Jeff Sode for coming by Fremont Elementary School this week to read to some of our classrooms. The students had a great time and enjoyed learning about their roles within our communities.

The Fremont PTO would love to see you at our meetings this year! Meetings are on the third Wednesday of the month in the Middle School DEN at 6:00 p.m. Our next meeting is on May 15. Here is the list of all meeting dates for the 2023-2024 school year.
We are excited to share that we have listened to feedback from parents and will now be providing childcare services for children ages 3+ at ALL of our upcoming PTO meetings. Please use the form below to let us know if you will be bringing a child to the meeting. It is not required to RSVP; however, we ask that you please do so if you plan to take advantage of childcare. Care will be provided by Fremont Middle School students for individuals ages 3 and up.

SCHOOL STORE DATES
The School Store will be open on the following Fridays during lunch: Elementary School on May 10th and Intermediate School on May 3rd. Students in grades 1st-5th are welcome to shop once they have finished eating their lunch. Items range in price from $.25-$3.00.
TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK
Lights, Camera, Appreciation!! We will be celebrating all our "Stars" the week of May 6th-10th!! In preparation for the week, please help the PTO replenish all the amazing teachers' classroom supplies! We know it's crunch time, getting close to the end of the school year, but our teachers still need some supplies to last them the rest of the school year! The PTO has created an Amazon wish list for parents to help. The PTO will distribute your donations to our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week. If you would like to send money directly to the PTO, please Venmo your donation to @Fremont-PTO with "TAW" in the memo. Thank you for your help!

Monday - Fan Mail - Have your student write a letter about why their teacher is the best!! Check out this flyer!
Tuesday - Swag Bag - Have your student bring in a small gift of appreciation for their teacher. This would be a great way to show our specials' teachers some love too!! Here is the link for the non-classroom teacher favorite things list for Lincoln, Elementary and Intermediate Schools.
Wednesday - VIP for the Day - Say thanks "a latte" and bring your teacher their favorite drink.
Thursday - Cinema and Snacks - Bring in a treat for your teacher.
Friday - And the Winner Is - Bring your teacher their favorite flower or plant.
FREMONT MOTHER/SON BOWLING & PIZZA EVENT 2024
The Fremont PTO is excited to host our annual Mother/Son Event on Saturday, May 18 4-6 p.m. Bring your smile, wear your Fremont gear, bring your competitive spirits and Fremont camaraderie as we bowl, eat good food and share in some fun memories.
