Wishing you all a great winter break!
Sincerely,
Elizabeth J. Blanco, Ed.D.

ROSE CITY BASKETBALL TEAM
Rose City High School’s new basketball team could be a game changer for students. The nine-member team has already won two out of their three games against other alternative/continuation schools. The team builds a sense of community and motivates students to keep up with their grades. Rose City officials say they are proud of the student-athletes and are grateful to nearby McKinley School for the use of their gym.

HEALTHY HOLIDAYS
Holiday gatherings, more travel, and time spent indoors have likely led to the recent increase in COVID-19 transmission. PUSD is following public health guidance and recommending common-sense measures to protect you and your family from severe illness during the holidays. The LA County Department of Public Health recommends wearing masks in high-risk situations, testing when symptomatic, staying home when sick and getting the updated COVID-19 vaccine soon. PUSD has a few additional reminders:
Test kits are available at every school and the PUSD Education Center
Individuals who test positive are required to isolate for five days from the onset of symptoms or the positive test result and they can leave isolation if symptoms have improved
All students and staff are strongly encouraged to test before they return to school on January 8
