We have noticed an increase in students being taken out of school for different types of appointment. If possible, please attempt to schedule appointments early in the morning (7am to 10am) or later in the day (2am to 4am) THEN ensure that your child returns to school for the remainder of the day. Depending on the amount of time your child misses they will still get credit for a half day of attendance and possibly a full day of attendance.

When students return on Tuesday, January 7th we will be offering a THIRD lunch option.

The lunch ordering process will remain the same BUT students will have 3 choices instead of 2. Sunbutter & jelly sandwich will be offered daily as the 3rd meal choice which will always be the 3rd option. This item comes with the hot side of the day, fresh fruit and veggie bar, and a milk.

You may have noticed BG police in marked and unmarked cars during arrival and dismissal. Please take notice of the below traffic laws as BGPD will be present after break and will be enforcing them.

• In Illinois, it is illegal to park within 20 feet of a marked crosswalk at an intersection.

• Children under 8: Must be in a child restraint system, such as a booster seat, every time they are transported in a vehicle.

• Children 8–16: Must be in a seat belt or child safety seat.

• Drivers: Must ensure that all passengers obey the law and are properly secured in their seat belts.

• Illinois law prohibits the use of cell phones while driving in school zones.
