District Reminder
Before requesting time off, please check your leave balances in the self-service portal. Please be advised it is the employee’s responsibility, and not that of the administrator or office staff, to review leave balances. Often, we approve time without looking at the employee’s balances. It is necessary to use leave correctly and understand that leave balances do not necessarily default to another leave balance if available time is exhausted. For example, if a person enters for personal time but does not realize they are out of personal time, payroll will not automatically pull from sick leave balances. Thus, you might find yourself in an unpaid status.”
