Good morning, Evergreen families!

We have been so busy here at Evergreen this week! Our third-grade students began their state Smarter Balanced Assessments, some of our second-grade students are swimming, our third and fourth grade students began after school track, and our whole school celebrated Children’s Day today! Thank you to everyone who assisted by having your students ready for the activity they are participating in! We also had tremendous support from our families through donations for Children’s Day. Thank you so very much, it was such a success! I would also like to thank our PTSO for sponsoring the Mariachi Band who performed for our school today. It was such a special day!

This coming week we will continue with Smarter Balanced Assessments for third and fourth grade students. Please ensure your student has an opportunity to be well rested and present every day. Ms. Dawson and Ms. Francisco’s classes will be participating in swimming every day except Wednesday. Track will be every day after school except Wednesday. Marimba continues to be Tuesdays after school and choir is Thursdays before school.

Kindergarten open enrollment is still open. If you have a student coming into kindergarten, please get them enrolled. We are planning a kindergarten Jump Start this year August 26-28 for incoming kindergarten students! More information will be coming but if you have an incoming kindergarten student please mark your calendar.

We have a very special event coming up on May 23! It is our Student Showcase! The Student Showcase will be from 5:30-7 pm. It is an opportunity for your student to share with you work they have completed demonstrating their growth for the year. Furthermore, you and your student will be able to tour the grade level your student is moving to so you may see what is coming next year. There will also be an art show of student art and our Book Fair will be in progress! We will provide a complimentary pizza dinner and free books too!
