PBMS Vision
PBMS strives to be a place where students want to come to school, parents want to send their children and staff want to come to work.
Message from the Principal
Tomorrow is the end of grading period P2. It is another snapshot of student progress. Grades are not finalized until Friday, December 20 at the end of the first semester. The semester will end early for our 6th graders going to camp. Be sure your child connects with their teacher to get help needed to bring up their grades. We also have great tutoring support linked below.

Counseling Corner
PBMS Schoolwide Ofrenda: In honor of Hispanic Heritage month and Dia de los Muertos, our counselors and 7th & 8th grade art students created a schoolwide Ofrenda (altar).
All PBMS students are invited to bring in framed or unframed photos to add to the Ofrenda to commemorate loved ones. To learn more, click HERE. Our Ofrenda is located in The Pit and will be on display until November 4th.
6th and 7th grade Articulation: Counselors met with all 6th and 7th grade students to discuss class schedules for next year. Students were told to think about the World Language and electives they hope to take next year. If your child is interested in Gateway to Technology, Yearbook/Media or ASB (yearlong) they must attend the lunch time meeting next week. Students will learn about the course expectations, requirements and how to be considered for the class. These 3 electives are highly competitive, as there is only one section of each. Please remind your student to attend these lunchtime meetings if they are interested in one of these electives.
- Friday, November 1st- ASB Meeting in THE PIT
Please complete the course request form with your child after they attend the lunchtime meetings (if applicable.) Forms are due Monday, November 4th.

Each year the MBHS counselors give a presentation and then meet with each student individually to discuss course selections, electives, athletics, the IB Pathway and more! MBHS also hosts a 8th grade fieldtrip for all the 8th grade students. This event shows our student life at MBHS and all they have to offer. We are still working on a date for these exciting events and will inform students and families as soon as it is set!

Community Service
- 6th & 7th Grade: Community Service is an inspiring component of the IB program at PBMS. There are many opportunities to earn hours during the school day, through classes at PBMS. Students can earn hours at formal community service events, such as organized beach/community clean-ups, 5K’s, food kitchen, Girl/Boy Scouts, volunteering at church events, volunteering at a non-profit. Students can also create their own service opportunities, such as an informal community clean-up, helping an elderly neighbor with yard work, beautifying a green space, or spreading kindness in the community. Our principled IB students will then log their hours in their digital community service process journal, which is in their 6th or 7th grade Google Classroom. This process is based on the honor system and students will report their total service hours on May 2nd. Click this link for more information: 6th/7th Grade Community Service Process Journal.
PBMS Spelling Bee: Exciting news is buzzing around PBMS! The 2024 San Diego County Scripps Regional Spelling Bee is back and open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Please see Mrs. Velasco in Room 203 for more information. Students may also add themselves to the Bee Google Classroom to see more up to date information, including dates and deadlines.
