Open Evening for Reception 2025
This is an exciting opportunity for you to get a glimpse of the wonderful learning environment we have created here at South Milford. During the event, you will have the chance to spend time in our reception classroom, where you can speak to the staff and get a feel for the engaging and nurturing atmosphere we strive to maintain.
We are also thrilled to offer you a guided tour of our school, led by our Year 6 children, who will be eager to share their experiences and showcase the various facilities and resources available to our pupils.
Most importantly, this event will allow you to ask any questions you may have and learn more about the diverse range of opportunities we offer at South Milford Primary School. Our aim is to ensure that you feel informed and confident in your decision to entrust us with your child's education.
I look forward to welcoming you to our school and to answering any queries you may have.

Opal Play - All weather play
We firmly believe in the immense value of play for our pupils' development and wellbeing. Play is not just a fun activity, but a crucial component of their learning and growth. Through our OPAL play, our pupils have the opportunity to explore, experiment, and engage with the world around them in a meaningful way.
That's why we encourage our pupils to go out and play in all weathers. Rain or shine, our pupils will be spending time outdoors, immersing themselves in the natural environment. We find that this not only supports their physical health, but also fosters their creativity, problem-solving skills, and sense of adventure.
To ensure our pupils are comfortable and prepared for their outdoor adventures, we kindly request that you provide them with the appropriate clothing and footwear. This includes waterproof jackets, trousers, and a change of shoes or wellies. By equipping our pupils with the right gear, we can ensure they stay dry, warm, and ready to embrace the great outdoors.
Key Dates
Please see attached a comprehensive calendar of events for the year ahead. Any additional dates will be added and re-shared with parents, if anything should arise.
