We are very excited about our Thanksgiving lunch days next week. Here are some helpful tips that will contribute to both days' success.
1. Make sure you have already set up your Circool account and have your QR code easily accessible. We suggest saving a screenshot of it in your camera roll. Guests who are NOT custodial parents, such as grandparents, need to bring a photo ID and allow extra time to sign up in the Circool system. They will not be issued a QR code.
2. Make sure you have added money in your child's lunch account to cover the cost of lunch for your child and all of your child's guests. This makes the line run more efficiently. Do this more than 24 hours in advance since it takes that long for funds to actually get processed into your child's meal account.
3. Please do not come to eat lunch with your child on his/her sack lunch day! There is not room in classrooms for lots of lunch guests. Come on the assigned Friends and Family Day!
4. We use open seating in the cafeteria on these days, so you may sit with your child anywhere in the cafeteria. We only allow about 40 minutes, so please be mindful of this. Also, we need one group to leave so it frees up parking for the next group!
5. Arrive early knowing that it takes awhile to get lots of people signed in, especially with a new system.
6. Please bring your patience. You will likely have to wait to enter or wait in line!
Just know that the food will be delicious and the time spent with your child is priceless!!
The art show is fast approaching. It will be held Wednesday, November 20th from 4:30-6:30. The show is come and go, so come and leave as you please. We will have food trucks from Heavenly Donuts and Pazzo Pizza if you would like to grab a treat.
The art show serves as a fundraiser for the art program. All projects will be framed and you are able to purchase the art framed for $30. (They do not accept cash, card payment only) If you do not purchase your art, you will still get your art back un-framed later on. If you cannot attend and want to purchase your student's art, you can purchase online via the link above. You have the option to purchase the original and/or as many reproductions as possible! Feel free to send the link over to family and friends to see the virtual show. I can't wait for you to come visit the Greystone Elementary Art Museum soon. Let's make a great night!
Save time by paying for your art online and then just pick it up on the 20th!!
Paw Point Store Donations Needed!
You know that little junky stuff that your kids LOVE and that you try to avoid. Those are the things they LOVE to purchase with their Paw Bucks at our Paw Point Store. If you want to order some things for us on Amazon or do a little shopping at the Dollar Tree or Five Below, we could use some donations. Please send any items to the front desk and we will add those to our store.
Students love balls, sticky hands, squishies, little games, fun pencils, yo-yos, key chains, slime, etc.
Thanks for helping us keep our students motivated to earn points by having items they want to purchase in our store.
Congratulations to our 24-25 Greystone Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Kelley Williams
Mrs. Kelley Williams is a first grade teacher. She has been teaching at Greystone since 2000. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Williams drives one of our school buses and tutors students after school.
In the nominations by faculty and staff, Mrs. Williams was described as an amazing teacher who creates a caring and supportive learning environment for her students so that they enjoy learning. This results in her students wanting to work hard in her classroom each day. She goes above and beyond by taking on other responsibilities for our school community. Mrs. Williams is kind, loving, and considerate and always has a smile on her face. Congratulations!!
Congratulations to our Classified Employee of the Year, Mrs. Hayley Roberson
Mrs. Hayley Roberson is an exceptional education aide at Greystone and has been serving our students since 2006.
In the nominations by faculty and staff, Mrs. Roberson was described as someone who always has a positive attitude and exhibits dedication and dependability. She takes the initiative to go above and beyond for our students. Mrs. Roberson is a calm, quiet leader, is always professional in her interactions, and helps teachers and other staff members. Her love for our students and helpfulness in so many ways makes Mrs. Roberson a perfect recipient of our 24-25 Classified Employee of the Year recognition this year. Congratulations!
We Are Changing to Circool! Are you ready?
Parents,
Now, you must have your Circool account activated to visit the school. Please go ahead and do this. It only takes a few minutes. Once you have your account activated, the check in process will be much quicker as you just have to scan your Circool QR code and your visitor badge quickly prints out.
Things to know:
* Circool activation emails were sent to custodial parent emails that are in PowerSchool. If you need the invite emailed to you again, please reach out to Mrs. Todd at jestodd@hoover.k12.al.us
* Visitors who are not custodial parents will be able to sign in using a visitor link at the front desk. They need to bring a photo ID.
* If you have students at other Hoover schools, your QR code will work at all Hoover schools.
* Once parents have their account activated, we suggest you add Circool to your home screen on your phone and/or store a screenshot of your QR code for easy access.
* The check in process is very quick if you have your phone with your QR code ready when you enter. The printer is MUCH quicker than Raptor!
**Circool will be used when you come to Friends and Family Lunch, so let's be ready!!!
Thank you! Dr. Stocks

Up next: Turkey Trouble. Help us decorate the cafeteria for our Friends & Family lunches and the illustrator visit in April by disguising a turkey! If you would like to participate, please return your turkey in disguise by November 18. The turkey template and letter were sent home on November 1.
