Dear LAHS Students and Families,

The official start of the 2024-2025 school year is just upon us! We are so looking forward to all that a new year brings.This last two weeks have been very busy here. Band Camp, fall sports, parking passes, and laptops have brought many of you to the building. Our teachers and staff have been attending trainings and getting their classrooms and learning spaces ready. Our custodial staff, led by Mr. Rute, have done an amazing job of cleaning the building and preparing it so that it is in its best shape.

If you have been on or by the school, you will have noticed the the construction projects that are taking place onsite. The tennis courts are progressing with the top coat with painting beginning in the next few weeks. The road that will loop the back parking lot to the front continues to move at a good pace.The addition of that roadway will improve our site accessibility. The Dragon's Den, our new concession stand between the turf field and baseball field, is set to have its grand opening on September 7th. Please stay tuned for more details from The Green Dragon Foundation and LASD.

This Thursday is our last Laptop Distribution Day from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Students who have not picked up their computers by that date will receive them on the first day in their advisories. Please visit https://www.lasd.us/departments/technology/one-to-one_computing for more information.

I am excited to be joining the Lewisburg Area School District for the 24/25 School Year. Prior to Lewisburg, I spent my tenure in Schuylkill County as a HS Counselor with the Pine Grove Area and Pottsville Area School Districts. When I’m not at work, you can usually find me spending time with family & friends, playing guitar, kayaking, hiking or fishing. I currently reside in Elysburg with my wife Bethany and our 3 year old pup, Cocoa

I was born and raised in Lewisburg, PA, graduated in 2003, and I am very excited to be back at my alma mater! I went to Shippensburg University for my English, Secondary Education Certification, and came back to the area to teach at Warrior Run, where I taught for 17 years before accepting the position at Lewisburg High School. I live in Lewisburg with my husband, Patrick, and my son Landon (7), and daughter Lilly (almost 4). I love to read, and find peace in all things related to water and sunshine, but spend most of my time balancing the role of teacher, wife, and (sports) mom. I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with students at all levels and cannot wait to build into my community as I find my role in the Lewisburg School District.

I’m super excited to be joining the Lewisburg Area School District community this upcoming school year. For the previous nine years I have served as both a school counselor and assistant principal at East Juniata High School. I live in Mifflinburg with my wife Emily and our two Springer Spaniels. Most of my out of school time is spent fishing, hunting, and working with our dogs.

Please note that dismissal will be staggered the first few days of school to help make sure everyone gets to their correct mode of transportation.

The HS has several bell schedules that we utilize. After the first week, we most often use the Regular Flex Bell Schedule and Extended Flex Schedule. The different schedules allow for us to have all classes meet in a day, even if there is a special event or a weather situation. A variety of activities occur during our Flex period. Clubs and activities, class meetings, grade checks, and assemblies are examples of the types of ways we utilize this time period. Bell schedules will also be posted on the LAHS Student Canvas page. For your convenience, we have listed below a pdf file of the various schedules that we use.

Please familiarize yourself with the image below which shows the traffic flow pattern at the HS. With the exception of buses, staff, and those students parking in the rear lot, all others should enter via the south entrance on Newman Road. During drop-off and pick-up times, drivers should remain in their cars.

** The construction that has the drop-off/pick-up loop is currently blocked. We have been assured that this will be completed prior to the first student day.

For those students who have their licenses and vehicles that they will be driving regularly, the application for parking permits is now available. Please complete the form below. Information regarding the criteria for having a spot is listed in the form. Please give 2 school days for them to be completed once submitted.

2024-2025 Parking Registration

Mrs. Whary has been doing an incredible job of processing all of the registration updates in PowerSchool- about 400 so far. Please remember that these need to be completed before schedules can be seen. Also, ALL students, even if you are attending SUN ATI, Early College at Bloomsburg, or LASD E-School need to have theirs completed.

Students were emailed the link for schedule changes on Friday. We are in the process of completing them starting with those students who are missing a graduation/core credit requirement. We will only process requests made through the form.

Please note that we cannot accommodate requests to have a specific time, section, or teacher of a class.

We are pleased to announce that breakfast for all LASD students is free again this year. Breakfast is served in the mornings starting at 7:25 AM. In addition to the hot item listed on the menu below for each day, students may opt a variety of other foods such as cereal, yogurt, and bagels. Fresh fruit or juice is also available at breakfast each day.

For lunch, our students also have options besides the menu choice. These include hamburgers, cheeseburgers, wraps, salad, and yogurt parfaits.
