Principal's Message
Greetings Santa Cruz Gardens Families!
I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!
It's been a fantastic 2 weeks of settling into our academic routines, our enrichment, and getting students into our Garden and Science spaces. This start to the school year has had such a strong and positive showing and effort for our student and greater SCG community : )
We are really looking forward to having you at our SCG Back to School Night. This is an evening for parents to come and learn more about classroom culture and the year's expectations, as well as Santa Cruz Gardens school culture and community.
Home and School Club President Colin Clark and I will be starting it off in the Amphitheatre at 6pm. The classrooms will open at 6:30 for teachers to present to you until 7:15. See you all soon!
Please see the essential snapshots and message from Counselor Sue Robinson below, and remember to keep an eye on the dates at the top of our Dolphin Dispatches : )
In Partnership,
Principal Carlo Albano
Dolphin Dispatches will usually come out on Monday in the future.
From your SCG Counselor…
Greetings, Santa Cruz Gardens Families! Each month, I have the chance to work with all our students to develop various character traits. As we return to school and reestablish our routines, we will focus on RESPECT: seeing value in all people and things & treating them with care. Students will learn to apply respect in various ways, including with friends, during problem-solving and conflict resolution, and in leadership opportunities. I look forward to working with every one of our SCG Dolphins and their families this year!
Thank you,
Sue Robinson, SCG School Counselor

If you’re interested in running for a position, this is a great chance to make a significant impact on our school community. Email Carlo Albano at calbano@suesd.org if you are interested in joining.
Home and School Club: We’re excited to invite you to our Home and School Club (HSC) meetings and events! This is a fantastic chance to get involved with our school’s activities and events. Join us to connect with other parents, share ideas, and help us make our school community even better.

A reminder about meals and times from Childhood Nutrition Services, serving our students'- the growing homemade items and salad bar are healthy and delicious! Thank you Director Amanda Timar!
Drop Off and Pick Up
Reminder to be patient as we have an average pause and wait traffic flow and 2 small buses assisting students with Extensive Supports Needs. Please take the time to breathe and have a quiet moment in your car as you come to pick up or drop off your child.
We have supervision at SCG starting at 8am. If your student arrives before 8am, they need to have adult supervision until our Recess Coaches arrive. The only adult supervision we have after school is at the drive through lane, from 2:30pm to 3:10pm. TK/Kindergarten students should be picked up at their classrooms. 1st through 5th grade students should be picked up on campus or by car at the drive through lane.
Volunteer Clearance and Fingerprinting Service at Santa Cruz Gardens- THIS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT ON CAMPUS!
