FVE SUMMER NEWSLETTER
July2024
DEAR FRONTIER VALLEY FAMILIES
We hope that you have had a wonderful summer break! Our staff has worked hard to prepare the school to welcome our students back to FVE in August. We are excited to see our little buffaloes back at school in a few weeks.
We are so excited to welcome our new staff members to the Frontier Valley family! Please join us in welcoming:
Greg Watkins-New full time campus security specialist. Greg is coming to FVE with experience as a campus security specialist from a neighboring school district. This is a new position to our school, as it was added after the passing of ballot measure 5A by DCSD voters last November. We appreciate our community supporting the safety and security of everyone in our building!
Rheanna Tate-New music teacher. Rheanna is an experienced music teacher that is coming to our school from a neighboring school district. She is looking forward to developing a love of music with our students.
Carla Carlisle-New kindergarten teacher. Carla has taught kindergarten for many years in a nearby school district. She has a passion for teaching kindergarten, and is excited to join our wonderful school.
RaKell Adams-New kindergarten teacher. Rakell has been teaching over 16 years, and most recently was a literacy specialist in a neighboring school district. We are lucky to have her teaching our youngest buffaloes.
We are happy to share that all other staff members are familiar faces to Frontier Valley. Some are taking on new responsibilities or positions, and know our school well. We know that the teachers and support staff have the greatest impact on our students, and we feel that we have the very best serving our community. Our theme this year is “Imagine the Possibilities”. We are excited to see the endless possibilities of growth in our students this coming year! It’s going to be a great year full of learning!
Cheerfully,
Kiersten Hall
Proud Principal of Frontier Valley

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! FALL PICTURE DAY IS SEPTEMBER 10TH
ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
Frontier Valley follows a ‘soft start’ process for student arrival in the morning. School doors will open for students from 8:20am-8:35am. Please keep students in your care until Frontier Valley staff supervision begins at 8:20am. We will continue to use specific doors for student entrance closest to the grade level classrooms. Kindergarten, first and third grade students will arrive through the playground/blacktop doors. Second grade students will enter through the front doors of the school, and our fourth and fifth grade students will enter the building through the bus loop/mobile classroom doors.
DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
We also follow a staggered dismissal to thin out the HERD leaving our building. Some classes will begin dismissing at 3:25, with the remaining coming out at 3:30. Car riders will be waiting on the sidewalk near the field with their teacher until their ride comes through the lane. It helps our staff if a sign is placed on the passenger window or hanging from the mirror with your child’s name and grade written in large bold letters (these will be available at meet and greet or the school office). A staff member will call students to your car as you enter the car lane. Please close the gaps in the car lane during pick up, so that we may load students more efficiently.
PET POLICY
Although we LOVE our pets, please remember that dogs are not allowed on campus (with the exception of service animals). Please keep dogs on the perimeter of school grounds (fence line on Canterberry Trail or tree line on the field). This is a DCSD policy for all schools.
