LPS Tiger Talk
September 13, 2024
Message From The Principal
Dear LPS Families,
I am excited to announce and endorse the annual LEPTA Walk-a-thon Fundraiser that kicks-off today! This is our PTA's main fundraiser that provides incredible enrichment opportunities for our Tigers throughout the school year. Please take a look at the information that your child is bringing home today regarding the Walk-a-thon.
Our LEPTA provides learning experiences and fun events that our students otherwise wouldn't get such as grade level field trips, in-house presentations, and the Kona Ice Truck visit later this spring. If you are able, I'd love to encourage you to support the great things our PTA does by sponsoring a student for the Walk-a-thon on September 27th. Don't forget to ask family, friends, and colleagues to consider sponsoring a LPS Tiger too!
Have a wonderful weekend! We will see our Tigers back on Monday.
Sincerely,
Kevin Fancher

Counselor's Corner ~ A Note From Mrs. Chandler
Mrs. Chandler and Mrs. Osborn (Speech/Language Pathologist) will be visiting all classrooms through the month of September to teach about Social Thinking with 1st and 2nd graders. Social Thinking is one aspect of our social emotional learning curriculum that we address here at LPS. These lessons focus on showing positive behaviors, being confident in their interactions with others and being problem solvers. We focused on the size of the problem this past week. Please see the attachment below for more information on these lessons. We encourage you to talk with your child about what they are learning! If you have any questions you can contact Darcie Chandler at chandlda@lovelandschools.org.
A New Addition To LPS!
We are excited to announce that we will be welcoming a Canine Good Citizen dog to LPS! Sunny lives right here in Loveland and is a trained therapy dog. Along with the required training and testing, Sunny has completed a year’s worth of school visits across the Cincinnati area. She loves children and has a very sweet, gentle temperament. We hope to introduce Sunny to our Tiger Cubs in smaller group settings once or twice a month in the near future. Mrs. Chandler will be working with Lisa Sasson who is the dog handler and will talk about Sunny and the purpose of a therapy dog to the students. We recognize that there may be some allergies and scared students, so this will be totally optional. We look forward to this new addition to our school over the next several months. Please reach out to Darcie Chandler (School Counselor) at chandlda@lovelandschools.org if you have any questions or concerns. If you have a child that is allergic or scared of dogs please also reach out to your teacher and let them know via email or seesaw.
Growing With The Loveland Learning Garden
Help us clear dams and trash along our nature trail creek to improve water flow and allow for more broad and safe kid exploration! The nature trail is used for our nonprofit's outdoor education programs as we immerse kids in nature. As a haven for wildlife, many invertebrates call the creek bed their home. Feeding the Little Miami, this effort also supports the quality of our regional water system! Free t-shirt provided by ORSANCO for all volunteers! Everyone invited - bring your team, club, scouts, family! Service hours are available.
Loveland Learning Garden is a volunteer-run nonprofit which funds and maintains a garden and nature trail on school grounds as spaces to connect kids to nature through outdoor educational programs. Follow @lovelandlearninggarden on IG/FB or visit www.lovelandlearninggarden.org

Friday Night Football Expectations
We want Loveland High School football games to be a great experience for families and fans. Parents are reminded that students in grades K-6 must be supervised by an adult who is in attendance at the game. Football games are school events. Students are expected to follow all school rules and behaviors and may face school discipline for inappropriate behavior at games.
Some areas of Tiger Stadium will be off-limits to students. Additionally, bookbags are not allowed in Tiger Stadium, and there will be no re-entry - once you leave the stadium, you will not be allowed back in.
Let’s keep game days safe and fun for families, fans, and visiting teams by demonstrating
our Loveland Core Values of Care, Respect, and Responsibility.
If you have questions, you can always reach me at mikebroadwater@lovelandschools.org.
