As a reminder: SMM students and faculty pray a decade of the rosary, led by Mission Club members, every morning on the WSMM Morning Show at 8:10 am. Please join us in spirit at that time and pray wherever you are.
Attention Parents of 5th, 6th & 7th Grade Students
We are anxiously awaiting the November update form the governor. We hope that the students will be able to start moving classes and use their lockers then.
In the meantime, students may rent their lockers for a fee of $3.00 which has been billed to and is payable through your FACTS accounts.
IMPORTANT: Due to an increase in student passwords being used by others, we will institute a detention for any student who is logging into another student's account. Updates will be made to the handbook.

TEACHER FEATURE: TAMMY BAUER
Hi, My Name Is Tammy Bauer and This Is My Story
I was born and raised in Slidell and graduated from St. Margaret Mary School. My daughter, Addison, attends SMM and I love the Catholic family environment. In fact, I was the front office receptionist for 5 years before Ms. Susan took my place. I also owned my own martial arts studio called Slidell Kicks.
I became a teacher because I love working with kids and helping them reach their goals. I strive to teach my students how to see their potential and believe in themselves. I have been teaching for three years and this is my first year at SMM. I teach middle school English Language Arts and Reading.
When I am not at school, I am a mom to my crazy 6-year-old daughter and I spend much of time with my family. I am the #1 aunt to my many nieces and nephews. My entire family is involved with St. Margaret Mary Parish. My dad is a deacon at SMM, my mom is the former Director of Religious Education, my sister-in-law is the Youth Minister, and many family members are part of the music ministry and are altar servers. This is my home!
I love Star Wars! My dog's name is Anakin and we have three guinea pigs named, Solo, Kylo, and Leia. I am still involved in martial arts. I LOVE sports and enjoy watching my students play in their games. Maybe, I’ll get to coach at SMM one day.
TEACHER FEATURE: Tyler Miller
Hi, I'm Tyler Miller and Here Is My Story
I was born and raised in Slidell and I graduated form St. Margaret Mary School. Since I was 5 years old, SMM has always felt like home to me. When I returned as a teenager to work aftercare, I knew there was no place I’d rather be. SMM has played such a significant role in my life and will always be like family.
I have been working at SMM for 3 years and am a PreK-4 assistant. I have always loved helping children learn new things. It is one of the most rewarding feelings in the world! In fact, I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Education so that I can continue to make a difference in our students' lives.
When I am not working or studying for my degree, I enjoy time with my son Easton, watching sports, fishing, reading, and doing anything outdoors. We have a Rottweiler named Stella. My son Easton attends SMM and is in Mrs. Ganucheau’s class. For those of you who don’t know, my mom is Ms. Susan who works in the front office. So, you could say, SMM is our second home.

LOVE LIFE AMENDMENT ON NOVEMBER 3RD BALLOT
Attention, all Louisiana citizens: on the November 3rd election ballot, you will be asked, “Do you support an amendment declaring that, to protect human life, a right to abortion & the funding of abortion shall NOT be found in the Louisiana Constitution?” Please vote YES for Amendment #1. In Louisiana, we love babies & their mothers, so we want to make sure that no judge “finds” a right to abortion or the taxpayer funding of abortion in our Constitution as they have done in 13 other states.
The 40 Days for Life Prayer Campaign is from September 23 and November 1. We are asking everyone to pray &/or do some type of penance during those 40 days for an end to abortion. If anyone is so inclined, St. Margaret Mary has adopted October 17 as our day to go in front of the "Women's Health Care Center," an abortion facility in New Orleans, to pray for an hour sometime between 7:00 AM & 7:00 PM. We will have a sign-up sheet in the church vestibule.
