From Dr. Cardenas, Principal

Dear Evergreen Families,

February was a month full of exciting events, activities, and learning. We experienced so many wonderful moments that truly showcased the spirit of our school community:

  • Diamond Bar High School Children's Theater delighted us with their performance of Big Hero 6
  • We proudly recognized Evergreen's Super Star Student and Partners in Education at the February Board meeting
  • Our Annual Poetry Festival celebrated the creativity and literary talents of our students
  • We hosted our First Ever Father Daughter Dance, creating memorable moments for our families
  • We celebrated Evergreen's Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Wong, honoring her exceptional dedication to education

It was a month full of learning and joy. As we close the month of February and head into March, we begin to set our eyes on ensuring our students are getting their support for the upcoming statewide assessments. We also have our First Annual Leadership Day Event taking place this month, the Color Fun Run, and so much more. March is an exciting month, and your partnership is appreciated.

Please continue reading for more detailed information about the various activities and news.

Warmly,

Dr. Cardenas

Leadership Day โ€“ Less Than One Week Away!

We are excited to share that Franklin Covey has chosen Evergreen to serve as a host school during this year's Leader in Me Symposium in Los Angeles County. This recognition presents an outstanding opportunity to showcase our school's successful implementation of the Leader in Me program.

EVENT UPDATE: The big day is less than one week away! Our students and staff have been working diligently to prepare for this special occasion.

Evergreen will host approximately 100 attendees, educators from several school districts for a special Leadership Day visit from 10:15 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, March 13. What makes this event particularly special is that it will be 90% student-led, demonstrating our students' remarkable growth and leadership development in just our second year of implementation.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: This is a "Dress to Impress" event. All students and staff are encouraged to dress in business attire!

Thank you to our students, staff, and families for helping make this implementation such a success!

Kindness Week is a huge success! Kindness Week is a huge success!

Kindness Week: A Colorful Celebration of Caring!

Our school community came together for an incredible Kindness Week filled with creativity, enthusiasm, and heartwarming displays of compassion! Each day brought new opportunities for students to express and spread kindness through themed dress-up days that brightened our hallways and lifted spirits.

Students kicked off the week looking ultra-cool in their sunglasses for "Kindness is Cool" Monday. The energy continued with "Think Pink Tuesday," where a sea of pink represented our commitment to compassion and care. Wednesday doubled the fun as students coordinated outfits for Twin Day, creating special bonds and plenty of smiles. Our school community got cozy on Thursday for "Dream of Kindness" in comfortable clothing and pajamas. The week culminated in a stunning rainbow of kindness on Friday, with each grade level sporting their designated colors โ€“ from our TK/K students in red to our fifth graders in purple.

A special highlight was our school-wide backdrop project, which created a lasting reminder of our commitment to kindness. Thank you to our dedicated Kindness student action team and facilitators who worked tirelessly to make this week such a success. The spirit of kindness they helped foster will continue to ripple through our school community long after this special week.

Together, we showed that kindness never goes out of style!

Our kids had the opportunity to learn how to be entrepreneurs, thanks to the incredible business students from Diamond Bar High! ๐Ÿ’ก They kicked things off with a fun and creative mission: Aliens have landed on our school campus! ๐Ÿ‘ฝ

The students teamed up in groups of 10 to brainstorm and pitch innovative alien products designed to keep everyone safe. The results? Out-of-this-world creativity! ๐ŸŒŸ

Our teachers had the tough job of judging all the amazing ideas, and we have to say, the kids absolutely crushed it. ๐Ÿ™Œ It was such a blast seeing their teamwork and imagination come to life. ๐Ÿ›ธโœจ

๐Ÿค Synergizing with classmates and staff

We are so proud of our leaders for demonstrating these values and making Evergreen Elementary a wonderful place to learn and grow! Please see the instagram post below for highlights of the event!
