“See Something, Say Something”
Report a Concern System
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Today, your child attended a Trimester 2 kickoff assembly. We celebrated the great choices our students have been making so far this school year and addressed behaviors that have become patterns in our school. Additionally, we reminded students of our "See Something, Say Something" reporting system. To ensure that students feel empowered to voice their concerns, we have established clear procedures for reporting any issues they may encounter at school related to bullying, racial harassment, and safety.
How Students Can Report a Concern:
Talk to a Trusted Adult: Encourage your child to speak with a teacher or school staff member they trust. These individuals are trained to listen and provide support.
Use the Reporting System: We have a reporting tool available called “See Something, Say Something.” This system allows students to report concerns to a monitored Google form.
Visit the Support Staff: Students are welcome to visit the administration offices, social worker, or counseling office during school hours to discuss any issues in a safe and confidential environment.
Parent-Teacher Communication: As a parent/guardian, you can also relay concerns through direct communication with teachers or school administration.
Encouraging Open Dialogue: We encourage you to talk to your child about the importance of speaking up when they feel uncomfortable or unsafe. Remind them that their voice matters and that there are supportive adults ready to help.
Reporting Anytime: If you believe someone is a threat to themselves, in any imminent danger, or any other extreme concerns, please call 911 or your local police department at one of the numbers below:
Lincolnshire/Prairie View: (847) 883-9900
Buffalo Grove: (847) 459-2560
Lake Forest: (847) 234-2601
Riverwoods: (847) 945-1820
Vernon Hills: (847) 362-4449
Lake County Sheriff: (847) 549-5200
You may also use Lake County Text-a-Tip, which is a 24/7 crisis hotline for students who are concerned about their safety or a peer.
Call 988 if you or anyone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis. This number is a 24/7/365 support line that will connect you with a licensed mental health professional through the Lake County Department of Health.
Thank you for your continued support in fostering a safe and caring school environment.
Sincerely,
Mike Jerzyk
