SRMS Updates, September 28, 2023

Good afternoon Sandy Run families.

It is hard to believe that the end of September has reached us and Fall has set in. This week, we held our first fire drill of the year and our students did a fantastic job exiting the building and staying safe; students have successfully demonstrated their knowledge in classes and assessments across the school day; and our fall sports teams have held competitions and fought hard. Next week is the final week of the first half of the marking period, and some of our encore classes will rotate and students will get an experience in a new curriculum. This also serves as a great check in point with your child to talk about their progress in classes and any changes or support that may be needed. In conjunction with Upper Dublin, Eric's RX Shoppe is happy to partner to provide a vaccine clinic for ages 3+. Details of the event are below:

• Date: Thursday, October 5th from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

• Where: Upper Dublin High School Cafeteria, 800 Loch Alsh Ave, Fort Washington, PA 19034

Vaccine Offered:

• Flu Vaccine - Ages 3+

• High Dose Flu Vaccine - Ages 65+

• Covid -19 Vaccine - Ages 3+ (pending availability and insurance coverage)

• Covid -19 Vaccine - Ages 12+ (pending availability and insurance coverage)

Pre-registration is highly recommended.

• IF THIS IS FOR A MINOR, PLEASE REGISTER USING YOUR CHILD'S NAME, DOB, AND ALL OTHER INFORMATION!

If you are under 18, you must have either a parent/guardian present or have the proper consent form(s) printed and signed (NO EXCEPTIONS).

UDJAA Winter Basketball

• Registration is now open for 2023-24 UDJAA Winter Basketball. Please sign up early. We will fill up. Registration will end on October 1.
• We have travel and intramural opportunities for students in grades 2nd through 12th. The travel basketball season begins with a Thanksgiving tournament and the regular season begins around New Year's and usually ends in early March. Intramural practices will begin after Thanksgiving break. Intramural games begin the first week of January and run through mid-March.

Strengthening Families ages 10-14

• For dinner, they have the choice to have pizzas delivered to their home or a $50 DoorDash gift card to purchase their own dinner (that’s $50 for each night of the group).

UDHS Theatre Show Postcards

• Last week the UDHS Theatre Department held their annual Show Season Reveal Party where students anxiously learned what productions will be held this school year. The Fall Play is Murder on the Orient Express, the Spring Musical is Footloose and the Children's Theatre Event is a Royally Talented theme.
