the recommended specifications for a full-width slider hero image are: (Large photos on all homepages)
- Aspect ratio: 16:9
- Width: At least 1920 pixels
- Height: At least 1080 pixels
Here are some other tips for hero images:

Newsletter Translation for ESL Families
When creating your newsletters...
Please keep ESL households in mind. Graphics and flyers are a great way to capture someones attention, but if you don't have text to accompany that flyer in S'more then the newsletter cannot be fully translated. Only text will translate. Make sure to title your sections and add a content sentence about the call to action, especially if your information will go throughout the district.
What is Alt Text in my newsletter?
Alt text, or alternative text, is a written description of an image or other visual element in a digital document or on a web page:
Alt text is important for accessibility because it allows people with visual impairments or those using assistive technologies, like screen readers, to understand the content of images. It can also be useful for other users, such as those who have difficulty understanding the meaning of visual content or those without access to high-speed internet.
Here are some tips for writing alt text:
- Be concise: Keep your alt text brief and to the point.
- Be accurate: Describe the image's content and function accurately.
- Provide context: Explain how the image relates to the page content.
- Include keywords: Use keywords to help describe the imag
