Headteachers Message
Dear Families
I hope this update finds you well following the half term break. We have a busy, but exciting few weeks ahead of us with various activities and events taking place.
Firstly, a huge well done to all the students who have participated in the Duke of Edinburgh expeditions recently. The DofE programme is one which encourages resilience and teamwork, and I would encourage all students in Years 7 & 8 to consider signing up for this in Year 9. I would like to extend my thanks to Miss Lee, Miss Gilmore, and Miss Stearn for their efforts in organising and overseeing these expeditions.
The recent Highflyers trip to Amsterdam was a tremendous success. Our students had a fantastic time, embracing the rich culture and history of the city. Thank you to Mr Evans, Miss Harris, Mr Galbraith, and Miss Harrison for their support and supervision, ensuring the trip was both educational and enjoyable. More information on our highflyers programme can be found on our website.
A gentle reminder to all parents to please complete the parent survey. Your feedback and views are important to us and help us understand how we can improve and ensure our students remain happy in school. Currently, only around 40% of parents have responded. Please make your opinions heard, they are valued and listened to by myself and the rest of the staff.
As a reminder, due to ongoing summer works, the PE changing rooms are closing from Monday. Students with PE or Dance lessons should come to school dressed in their PE kit on the day. This temporary change will help us manage the construction work efficiently. Please ensure your child is in correct PE Kit, not random items of sportswear or replica kit.
Finally, if parents have any concerns or questions they would like to raise, please do not hesitate to contact the staff member directly. We are here to support you and address any issues promptly. Staff contact details can be found via the ‘Contact Us’ page on our website.
Looking further ahead, we are working on providing updated curriculum information for parents, along with an assessment guide. These resources will be available to support the start of the new academic year in September, helping you to stay informed and engaged with your child’s education.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a lovely weekend and hopefully some sunshine to enjoy.
Kind regards
Mr P Grills

Weekly Head of Year Message
Dear Families
As the GCSE exams enter their final weeks, we want to take a moment to commend our Year 11 students for their excellent adherence to exam protocols and their unwavering dedication to their studies. The resilience and hard work displayed by each student during this challenging exam season have been nothing short of inspiring.
Looking ahead, we are excited to celebrate the culmination of our students' time at Teddington on 28 June, a day dedicated to our students’ achievements. Students have a Leavers’ Assembly in the morning, where students have an opportunity to reflect on their journey, share memories, and sign shirts as a memento of their shared experiences. In the evening there is the much-anticipated Prom Night. It promises to be a memorable event, filled with joy, laughter, and a chance to create lasting memories with friends.
Let’s make these final weeks as successful as the years leading up to them and look forward to a celebration of the hard work and achievements of our Year 11 students. Here’s to a fantastic end to the school year and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives!
Best of luck to all our students in their remaining exams!
Kind regards
Miss J Mead

High Flyers trip to Amsterdam
A message from Mr Evans, High Flyers Lead
30 High Flyer students from Years 9 and 10 recently had the privilege of taking part in a 4-day trip to Amsterdam.
The students were really outstanding and made the most of the opportunity.
Visits were made to the Rijksmuseum (one of Europe’s finest art collections) plus the Van Gogh Museum and Gallery.
Students also visited the historical Jewish quarter, with time spent in each of the Jewish Historical Museum, the Portuguese Synagogue, The National Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Museum of the Dutch Resistance. Through these visits students gained an understanding of what life was like in the Jewish quarter before the Second World War; the impact of the Nazi occupation; and how the city tried to fight back. In addition, students visited the Anne Frank House elsewhere in the city, having been encouraged to read Anne Frank’s “The Diary of a Young Girl” before the trip.
Students got to spend an afternoon engaging with the interactive exhibits at the NEMO Science Centre, as well as having an hour’s canal cruise through some of the older parts of the city.
Thank you to all students for conducting themselves impeccably throughout, and my thanks also to my colleagues Miss Harris, Miss Harrison and Mr Galbraith who supported me so effectively in running the trip.
A similar “High Flyers” trip to another European city will be made in the summer term next year.
