Unless your child rides the bus or is signed out for early release in the office by an authorized individual, they should be picked up in the parent pick-up/caravan line at the designated location at the north end of the middle school. Please share this information with anyone who may be picking up your child as well.

Road Trip! Math Application in the “Real World”
Students in Mrs. LaRowe’s 6th grade math classes planned a road trip for themselves and a few friends. They had to decide which destination to visit, gas needed to travel, cost of meals, lodging prices, attractions to visit, and even purchased souvenirs. Some students were fiscally responsible and others went out since their budget was unlimited! See below for student decisions:
- Reasons: “To see the Grand Canyon,” “it’s warm there,” “to meet a You-tuber”
- Lodging: cheapest - $0 because they’re staying with relatives, $0 because they’re sleeping in the car in the Walmart parking lot
- Lodging: extreme – Disney’s Grand Hotel ($657 per night) or Trump Towers suite ($600 per night)
- Meals: “We’re going to eat ketchup packets and salt & pepper because they’re free at most restaurants!”
No matter the outcome, students had insightful discussions, used technology to explore options, and justified their decisions. All important “real-world” practice when remembering that life is a journey…not a destination.

Students interested in opening a savings account still have time to turn their applications in.

Toys for Tots and Hat/Mitten Drive a HUGE Success!
Thank you so much to all of our families who donated to our Toys for Tots and Hat/Mitten drive in December. We collected 194 total items to be donated! Because of your generosity, we overachieved our school-wide goal and were able to celebrate the last day before break with a fun movie day!
