All students should be in school by 7:45 am.!

HELP! Too many students are being dropped off AFTER 7:45 am. Students should be IN THEIR CLASSROOMS at 7:45!

If your child is eating breakfast at school, please have your student arrive at 7:30 am so they can be in class to participate in Community Circle and the Morning Announcements!

We have noticed an increase in the number of students being signed out just a few minutes before the end of the school day. To ensure that all students remain engaged in valuable classroom time and to minimize disruptions, please be advised that early dismissals will not be allowed after 2:15 PM.

If you need to pick up your child early for an appointment, please make arrangements to do so before 2:15 PM. After this time, students will need to follow regular dismissal procedures. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a smooth and productive end to the school day.

All after-school programs begin this week, with the exception of Choir, which will begin Mon 9/30. All programs run from 3-4:30pm. Make sure your child knows which program they are in, on which day, and what to expect! Please dress them accordingly, and pack an after-school snack to help power them through.

Please make sure to communicate in WIRITING with your student's teacher, if your student will be staying afterschool for an activity. This will help us to get all students to the correct place at the end of the day!

Smile VA will be at Fox on Monday and Wednesday for those students who have forms filled out by a caregiver! What service! Come to school AND go to the dentist!!!

Students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades will take the Virginia Growth Assessment (VGA) in Reading this week. Teachers will use this information to help plan instruction for their students!

Kindergarten students will participate in the Virginia Kindergarten Readiness Program (VKRP). The Virginia Kindergarten Readiness Program (VKRP) aims to build a more comprehensive understanding of school readiness. As an assessment system, VKRP adds measures of mathematics, self-regulation, and social skills in Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten to complement Virginia’s statewide assessment of literacy skills (VALLS: Pre-K and PALS-K). Kindergarten Students participate in the VKRP in the Fall and again in the Spring.

As we wind down summer, it is starting to be chillier in the mornings; and frankly, it is often cold in the building. Many students bring jackets/sweatshirts to wear. PLEASE label your child's sweatshirts and coats. This helps us to return them to the owner. We are starting to get a lot of items in the Lost and Found. If your child is missing something, have them look in the Lost and Found (it is outside the clinic/cafeteria.

A Photographer from Strawbridge Studios will be at school on Sept. 20th to take Fall Pictures. See picture flier below--you can order your photos online! A picture flier will come home in backpacks on Monday, Sept. 16.

Additionally, you can sign up to receive update via email regarding your child's school portraits. These updates include promotions, additional deals and the ability to order more pictures at a later time.

Please read the Parent Handbook! It is full of important procedures/policies/info that is helpful for families!

A hard copy will came home with your students on the first day of school in the "First Day Packet"! Please sign and return the last page of the Handbook!

We are still on track to be back in the Hanover Building for the 2025-26 school year!

Every Fox student has HOMEWORK EVERY day. ALL students should read or be read to for 20 minutes daily! If you need some books to read at home, let your child's teacher, our school counselor, CIS worker know. We are HAPPY to have your child pick out some books to take home. Also, check out and use the "Reading Library" that is located at the front of the school.

Research shows that READING EVERY EVENING is the one thing that WILL SET YOUR CHILD UP FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS.

3rd, 4th, 5th grade students will have up to an additional 30 minutes of homework as well (math practice, comprehension practice, studying etc). Teachers/grade levels will communicate homework to their class.
