BOARD OF EDUCTION MEETING TONIGHT - THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 26TH, 2024
The next Board of Education Meeting will be this evening, Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. Board meetings will continue to be streamed live and can be accessed on the website prior to the start of the meeting at www.sbschools.org.
We welcome and invite anyone who would like to make a public comment at any of our Board of Education meetings to please attend the in-person meeting. Although not required, the Board requests that residents who are interested in speaking at a Board meeting register with the Board Secretary's office prior to the meeting by calling (732) 297-7800, extension 3110 or by emailing marcia.garitano@sbschools.org. Residents will be heard during the portion of the meeting designated for public comment.
At this meeting, we will be recognizing our 2024-2025 District Calendar Art students.
SBSD ASSESSMENT NOTIFICATION
We are required by statute (N.J.S.A 18A:7C-6.6) to annually notify parents or guardians by October 1 any statewide students assessment or commercially developed standardized assessment that will be administered over the course of the school year. Information provided includes the name of the assessment, the assessment testing window dates, grade levels that will participate, and the timeline for score reports. OCTOBER IS DYSLEXIA AWARENESS MONTH
October is Dyslexia Awareness Month. South Brunswick is committed to being a “dyslexia friendly district” with the ability to embrace and support the strengths and talents of our students with dyslexia.
Did you know that 1 in 5 people may have indicators of dyslexia? Or that 40% of entrepreneurs are dyslexic? On October 15th, you may see educators wearing red shirts to bring attention to the 1 in 5 statistic. Did you know that Dyslexia runs in families? Often it is undiagnosed because “dyslexia masks intelligence and intelligence masks dyslexia.” However, it is much more common than you may think! Please click here for more information:

GIRL SCOUT OPEN HOUSE - SEPTEMBER 28TH, 2024

This is an event for kids interested in joining Scouts, not those who are already registered. But, it's a great way fort hose who've been asking you about scouts to come explore hands on.
