Our word for the month is empathy! We are teaching our students to be aware of, understand, and be sensitive to another person's feelings, as represented in the video above. We can't wait to celebrate students here at Magness Creek that are Empathy All Stars at the end of the month.

Attendance really does matter! Poor attendance can predict whether children will read proficiently by the end of third grade. Additional research further reveals that by sixth grade, chronic absences become a leading indicator in a student dropping out of high school. Please do everything you can to minimize absences, as well as tardies and early checkouts, to ensure your child has a successful future.

Mrs. Atherton and I have been trained by Mr. Byrd to do Hallway Hero training for our parents interested in volunteering this year. In order to volunteer at Magness Creek, you will need to complete a background check every year and have Hallway Hero training once in your lifetime. Please call the office at (501) 743-3565 or email your Hallway Hero interest to amy.morrow@cps.k12.ar.us or michelle.atherton@cps.k12.ar.us. We want the Hallway Hero piece to be easy and convenient for our families.
