We cannot accept food from outside eating establishments for students to eat during breakfast or lunch. This is against the federal food program guidelines and we could lose our funding for our free breakfast and lunch program.

• We cannot make changes to afternoon pickups over the phone. This must be done in writing, and we must be able to verify it. Please take care of this as soon as possible in the day. Changes will not be accepted after 2:00.

• Please do not drop off children on Sunset or anywhere on University or Bit and Spur, or in the parking lot. It simply isn't safe and we don't have the capacity to escort the children. If your child is a walker but you choose to drop them off, they are to be dropped off in the regular car line. No student, for any reason, should be dropped off anywhere else.

• PreK students will be dropped off during regular morning drop-off.

• Please feel free to stand outside of your car (not near the school buildings) when we are loading cars so your child can better see you.

• If you come to the front door to pick up your child during afternoon carpool, you will have to wait until 3:15 before we will pull your child. Stopping to address the checking of IDs for individual pickup slows down the carpool process greatly. EVERYONE has places to be and things to do.

IMPORTANT ADDITION TO CAR POOL GUIDELINES

When you are leaving the parking lot after dropping off, please observe the first stop sign in front of the gym and on the way out and wait to be directed to move forward. If you pull all the way up to Bit and Spur before the crossing guard is ready, the buses and other cars cannot get into the car pool lanes, and the entire process is held up.

Friday, October 4th: Wear a smiley face shirt and/or accessories, with uniform bottoms, for World Smile Day.

Friday, October 11th: Wear a pink shirt and/or accessories, with uniform bottoms, for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Friday, October 18th: *will be a part of Bullying Prevention Week activities.

Friday, October 25th: *will be a part of Red Ribbon Week activities.

Hello ERD Families,

As many of you are aware, after 38 years in the field of education, I will be retiring soon. It's been an honor to serve as the principal of ERD, and leaving is bittersweet. But this is a new season for me, and it's time for my husband and I to cruise, travel, take up new hobbies, try new things, and most importantly, spend more time with our 11 grandchildren. I love ERD and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I don't know who the new principal will be yet, but I have the upmost confidence that she/he will bring new ideas and changes that will benefit our school and make it even better. My last day at ERD will be October 11.
