Student Enrollment for 2025-2026
New Incoming Neighborhood Enrollment for the 2025-2026 School Year is OPEN!
Now is the time to enroll! Let your friends and neighbors know! Look for the blue link titled “Neighborhood School” in the center of the BVSD Enrollment page. Please be careful to click on the appropriate link and not the “Choice Enrollment” link as that will place your registration into the wrong department. Also, make sure to choose the correct year as both this school year and next are enrollment options!!
If you have any questions about the process, please feel free to call Carolyn (720-561-3500)

Large Lip Sync Groups
We understand that it is difficult to find rehearsal space for Lip Sync! Unfortunately, we do not have a lot of extra room available in our building to accommodate before or after school practice. We do want to encourage large, inclusive groups in our Lip Sync program and so we will consider requests from Lip Sync groups of 10 or more. Here's what we can do:
- If you are organizing a large lip sync group (must be 10 students or more) - Please fill out this Google Form if you are hoping to secure a space for your large group. We will do our best to accommodate as many groups as possible. This form will only be open until Tuesday, January 21st at 9 am, so please submit your request this weekend! Groups will be notified by Friday, January 24th and rehearsals may start beginning the week of January 27th.
- 5th Grade Ensemble Group already has space reserved and will begin practicing on Monday, Feb 3rd.
- Groups are free to use outdoor spaces on our campus to practice after school, but please do not ask teachers for classroom spaces.
If you have any questions about Lip Sync rehearsal spaces, please contact michelle.wellington@bvsd.org.
Spelling Bee Champion
Congratulations to our Bear Creek Spelling Bee Champion, Charlotte J, and to our runner up, Lydia C! Charlotte's championship word was "proficiency," and she will advance to the District Bee on March 15! This year's bee included 85 words during the written portion before four finalists advanced to the oral rounds. Great job to all 27 of our spellers, and a huge thank-you to parent volunteers Rose, Christina, Francis, Emily, and Angelica.

PE Class News Flash
Avalanche Hockey 101
In PE- Students practiced skills early on in the week during our hockey stations. They then used those skills in games like The very hungry caterpillar, pirate hockey, pin knockdown, 4 goal hockey and ended the week with a round robin tournament. All students helped us finish up our Hockey unit with a visit from the Avalanche Youth Development group. They provided students with instruction and lots of fun! In addition, they donated hockey sticks, balls and pop up goals. GO AVS!

Rainbow Day @ Bear Creek
Volunteers needed for a Rainbow Day event on 1/29/25 at Bear Creek!
Throughout the school year, BVSD Food Services holds “Rainbow Days” to encourage students to eat a colorful, nutritious lunch by including fruits and vegetables from the salad bar.
Rainbow Days are held in the cafeteria during lunch time and last ~2 hours. We need rockstar volunteers to: encourage students in line to try a variety of produce and engage with students at tables about what it means to “eat a rainbow.” (Bonus points for wearing a salad bar-inspired accessory provided by us!) It’s a fun, easy way to support BVSD’s mission of not only feeding kids nutritious food, but educating them about why it’s so important.
If you are interested in volunteering at your school’s Rainbow Day please sign up here!
R.O.C.K. Stars of the Week
Each week students who show Respect, Ownership, Cooperation, Kindness, and Safety are honored by BCE Staff. Here is this week's R.O.C.K. Stars.
CU Presents - The Tumultuous Life of Cumulus Clouds!
Saturday January 25, 2025 from 9:30 to 10:30 am in Duane Physics, G1B30, University of Colorado
Have you ever asked yourself: How do clouds form? Why do they have different shapes? Why do some clouds rain and others just move on? What do I need to make a cloud? Can I make a cloud at home?
Join CU Wizards on January 25th when Dr. Katja Friedrich, a physicist who has ventured into the Alps and Rocky Mountains to better understand the physics of clouds, storms and mountainous weather, will talk all about cumulus clouds: the water cycle, weather, and about how the air we breathe is influenced by the Earth's dynamic forces.
