What Happens if Duneland Schools are Delayed or Closed?
Everyday is an eLearning Day!
As a Northwest Indiana Online School student, if the Duneland School Corporation has a scheduled day off for staff development, closes due to inclement weather, or has a two-hour delay, it will still be an school day for you. However, knowing if the DSC offices are affected by a delay or closure, mayne helpful to you as other services may be impaced.
Upcoming information -
Monday, January 20, 2025 - In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, both Edmentum and the Duneland School Corporation will be closed. There will not be any live lessons in Edmentum. However, students are welcome to work in their courses, especially if they are behind.
The week of January 20, 2025 - With temperatures expected to drop below zero, there may be a delay or closure for schools. However, students enrolled in the OS program will still have live lessons and are expected to complete their assignments as scheduled.
Monday, January 27, 2025 - Students attending traditional schools in the Duneland School Corporation will have the day off, as staff will be participating in a full day of training. However, students enrolled in the Northwest Indiana Online School will still have live lessons and should plan to participate as usual and complete their assignments for the week.
Trying to Access Live Lessons?
Connect Now
If you are trying to access live lessons, make sure you are using the Genius: Connect Now button on your student's Dashboard page.
If you are trying to use the link from the last semester, it won’t work. Due to the security changes, Edmentum randomly updates the links so the only way to connect is through the Genius dashboard.
Make sure you are using your name to be let into the sessions. For example, just this past week, someone wrote "kid" as their name, and was not let into the meeting.
Uploading Assignments to Dropbox
Uploading assignmnets to Dropbox is a very common question we get from families. Please view this approximately two minute video to show you how to upload an assignmnet to Dropbox.
If you are still not sure how to submit the assignment after watching the video, please contact Coach Sara (slorenz@duneland.k12.in.us) or Coach Gabby (gmckeelewis@duneland.k12.in.us)
