Course 4769 : Differentiating and Scaffolding Instruction for English Learners in Primary Classrooms
This session provides a deeper look into both the academic and social-emotional needs of English learners in a general education classroom. Areas of focus include differentiating based on language level vs. differentiating for content access, making small adjustments in instructional practice to provide meaningful scaffolded supports for English learners, and high leverage strategies that promote academic success. Course 4774 : Effective Response to Difficult Tier 2 and 3 Student Behaviors
Based on the work of Geoff Colvin, this class will take a closer look at the escalation and de-escalation cycle. Functions of behaviors will be explored to help teachers appropriately respond to a wide variety of behaviors that students may exhibit in the classroom. Course material is intended to equip all teachers to effectively deal with students requiring Tier 2 or Tier 3 supports in their classroom. Class content is applicable to both general education and special education staff. Course 4777 : CHAMPS - A Proactive and Positive Approach to Classroom Management
In this course, participants will learn about CHAMPS, a system of classroom behavior expectations based on "Safe and Civil Schools" by Randy Sprick. CHAMPS stands for Conversation, Help, Activity, Movement, Participation, and Success. Participants will learn to design CHAMPS systems that are easy to implement and will improve classroom climate, reduce classroom disruptions, increase student on-task behavior, and establish respectful and civil interactions by focusing on structure, teaching expectations, observation, and positive student interactions. Presented by DBP assistant principal Solina Journey, location Lewisville Campus, room C-20. Earn up to 6 clock hours.

Course 4785 : Ozobots Robots (Grades K-8)
In this online and in-person hybrid course, learn how to use the Ozobots kit to incorporate coding, 21st century skills, robotics, technology, and collaborative STEAM activities in your classroom in an exciting and engaging way. For the online element, explore the online Ozoblockly platform at your own pace and plan for incorporating the Ozobots robotics kit in your class. For the in-person element, practice using the robots and coding them to respond to your commands and engage with the activities you plan to use with your students. For teachers of grades K-8. Presented by EdTech, location CASEE A Staff Development Room. Earn up to 3 STEM clock hours.
