Llewellyn Yearbooks
Llewellyn is pleased to provide YEARBOOKS FOR ALL students again this year! The feedback that was received last year was fantastic. YOUR help is needed in making this happen. Yearbooks are roughly $15 to produce. We are asking for donations to help cover this cost. If you are able to pay the $15 for your student(s), please do so here. If you are able to cover another student or even partial cost of a book, this will help us to achieve our goal of a yearbook for every student! You can also bring cash or check to the office as well.
On this note! If you are taking pictures of classroom fieldtrips, events or other school activities please share them with us! You can upload them to this google folder. We would love to have a wide range of photos to choose from for the yearbook!
Smile! You're on Candid....
Candid Photo Day is coming! Dorian will be coming on Friday, February 21st to take candid pictures of all of our stars. Pictures will be taken in all classrooms, specials, lunch and recess! These photos will then be used in the yearbook! If you do not want your child to be in the pictures that will ONLY be used for the yearbook, please reach out to Ms. Kellie at kgrunde@pps.net or stop by the office.
Recruiting for the Llewellyn Carnival!
Save the Date for the 2025 Llewellyn Carnival on Friday May 30th!
This is a community building event open to Llewellyn Students, their families, friends and prospective students. It runs on parent and community involvement and there will be a sign-up for specific roles in the spring. However, if you or your business would like to run one of our carnival games, we love the help and have many neighborhood organizations participating year after year.
In addition, we are looking for someone to help join our planning team this year. This is a really fun event that is designed to build community and is not a fundraiser. Please help keep this event going and bring some fresh ideas to the party.
Contact Brittany Petering at brittany.g.jones@gmail.com for more information.
From the Office
Parents - When you email us with attendance, call the attendance line (503-916-6256), or sign in your student late, please use the proper first and last names of your students. We are unable to look up students in the Attendance module using preferred names and trying to figure out who the student actually is can be time consuming. Thank you for your help!
If you have a last-minute change to your student's end of day plans, please call the office by 2:00PM. After that, it becomes much harder to get a note to teachers before the day ends. PLEASE CALL! We cannot guarantee that emails to the office or teachers will be seen after noon. Thank you for your help in making sure your student gets where they belong after school!
Please feel free to reach out to the office with questions. The office is open between 7:00AM and 3:00PM on school days.
Volunteering at Llewellyn
We LOVE volunteers! If you plan to volunteer at Llewellyn at any time, a background check must be completed. This is done at the district level at no cost to you and is good for three years. Please keep in mind that it can take up to 2-3 weeks for the application to be processed, especially at the beginning of the year. Look here for more information, to apply, or to see if your current application is still valid.
PTA Happenings
Announcing our winners from the Read-a-thon! Thank you to all who participated!
Sunshine Committee
On Wednesday, the Sunshine Committee provided a midday treat of Coco Doughnuts and fruit trays as part of our monthly snack rotation to our superstar staff. We are grateful to everyone who donates to our Sunshine Fund, which goes directly to provide monthly snacks and quarterly lunches for our entire staff.
Small Tall Ball
Our Small Tall Ball was a success and we are very thankful to our community for being so patient and understanding with our capacity restrictions this year. Moving forward, we will make decisions about next year’s event and perhaps changing venues or creating separate events to accommodate the high level of interest we had again this year. Either way, we are grateful for your support of our field trip fund and we look forward to providing more funding to help our teachers take our students on some really special experiences outside of the classroom in the future.
Reading Night
Llewellyn Reading Night was also a huge success with all of our special readers and mascots! Everyone who came got some reading night swag and several students won items from our raffles! We had fun hosting the event and it was very fun to see how much our students enjoyed all the read-alouds and their excitement during the raffles.
Current 5th Grade Families!
An information session for parents and guardians of incoming 6th graders and new students who are starting at Sellwood in the fall of 2025, will take place on Tuesday, March 11th, from 6:00-7:00pm.
