Dear Tilden Families,
I'm reaching out to share important updates on our Parent/Caregiver Workgroup's efforts addressing hate-bias incidents and bullying at Tilden MS.
February Meeting Highlights
Last month, our workgroup members collaborated to identify resources around four key themes related to hate/bias and bullying incidents, focusing on effectively supporting students at home. I'm pleased to announce we've begun compiling these resources into a toolkit that is now accessible to all Tilden families. Please click on the button/link below.
The toolkit includes valuable frameworks like the Compass Tool for courageous conversations, the Speak Up Protocol for addressing hate and bias, plus recommended books such as "The Anxious Generation" by Jonathan Haidt and "Good Inside." We've also included podcasts with practical strategies for helping children manage emotions, research on self-compassion among adolescents, and resources on neurodiversity.
Upcoming March Meeting
Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 18th at 7:00 PM in the Media Center. We'll continue our important work on developing supportive practices and strategies for families. Your voice and experiences are invaluable to this collaborative effort. Please consider joining us.

Dear Tilden Parents/Guardians,
Join us for a virtual PTSA meeting on March 11th at 7:00 PM.
In addition to general PTSA and principal updates, we will be joined by some of the most in-the-know volunteer leaders from Walter Johnson High School. They will share insights on what to expect as our kids enter WJ and will provide information on ways we can become involved with the PTSA, Booster Club, Counseling Advisory Committee, WJ Foundation and more. There are so many ways to engage with the WJ community and we look forward to hearing all about them!

Speaking of volunteer leaders, we are in the midst of planning for next year's Tilden PTSA board. We will have multiple open positions and encourage everyone in the community to consider joining the board. Please email Anne Mandeville, Tilden PTSA President, at tildenptsaboard@gmail.com to learn more. Current board members will be pleased to share thoughts on their experiences, the level of effort (answer- as little or as much as you want/time permits!) and goals for the future. Elections are held in early May and we would love to welcome new board members. No prior experience necessary- just a desire to help build community at Tilden.

In the final game of the season, both our Tilden Boys basketball and Girls basketball teams lost to Pyle MS. In the end, our teams can be very proud of their success this season under the new leadership of Coach "T" Newsome and Coach Andy Eisenberg. Coach Andy led the Boys Basketball team to a WINNING record of 5 WINS and 1 loss. While coach "T" led the Girls basketball team to finish with a WINNING record of 3 WINS and 3 losses. Go Timberwolves!!!!!!!
R.A.I.S.E. Champion of the Year Award Nomination Form
