Important Information From SISD

We’d like to alert you to a traffic incident that happened this morning near our campuses. A secondary student, who was riding a bike south on the sidewalk that runs from the area near the Stoney Creek neighborhoods toward the entrance of SMS, was struck by a vehicle driven by an adult who was entering the front entrance of SHS. A bus was exiting the front drive of SHS and was waiting to turn onto Collins, leaving the driver’s view obstructed. The accident occurred as the driver turned to enter the high school and the student crossed the entrance behind the bus.

We want to assure you that the student is safe and with a parent at this time and being treated for minor injuries.

We encourage all of our student and adult drivers to be vigilant and cautious during this busy time of year. Please be extra cautious around our schools while students are present. Student safety is our top priority.

The safety of our Raiders is a priority for every driver, every day.
