Community Commitment October 14, 2024
Our Community Commitment now focuses on recess behaviors. This time, instead of discussing sports at recess, we focused on general recess behavior. Interestingly, if you look back, you will likely see that the two lists are quite similar.
Students Xzavier Hagens, Keegan Di Domenico, and Adrian Portillo met with me and discussed some of the ways we can make recess more enjoyable for everyone. During our discussion, we created a chart of the behaviors that would be safe and helpful at recess. These became our Community Commitments for the next two weeks.
Parents, we appreciate the support the school-to-home connection will bring to reducing conflict at recess and increasing safe and helpful behaviors. Discussing these behaviors with your children will help strengthen that connection.

Magnificent Mustangs
Claire comes into class each morning prepared and ready for the day! She completes our class morning routine and starts her morning work right away. This sets an excellent example for others and shows immense responsibility!
Ace has been doing an excellent job in ELA class. He has been working hard to complete assignments and participating in class discussions! It shows an amazing work ethic and sets a positive example for others!
Jackson always takes his time with his writing and uses his rubric to make chances to improve. He leans into challenges and is an active participant in the productive struggle. His writing keeps getting better and better and he should be really proud of himself! This allows for Jackson to take ownership for his learning and allows his classmates to see that they too can become better writers.
Grayson is a kind friend. He is a hard worker and always tries his best. He is a role model in our classroom. He always wears a smile and is a kind friend to everyone.
Brayden stopped what he was doing in PE to care for a classmate who looked sad and was sitting by himself. You helped your classmate know you cared about him!
Alexander is always sharing a new idea or a creative way to look at a lesson in the classroom. It extends his classmates thinking and provides a new perspective to our learning.

Musical Theater Troupe Community Feedback
Musical Theater Troupe is proud to announce its theatrical performance for the 2024-2025 school year! This year’s play will be Circus Circus by John Jacobson and John Higgins. If you would like to review the script and offer any feedback, please either stop by the Main Office during normal school hours (9:00 am – 3:45 pm) to read the script and fill out our community feedback form, or click here to access a digital copy of the script and scan the QR code to fill out the community feedback form. Please note that, due to copyright restrictions, we cannot allow scripts to be removed from our school building. Our community feedback form for the musical will be available through Friday, October 11.
