Principal's Message
Hello NOHS Families,
We’re heading into a few more four-day weeks, along with an adjusted schedule due to state testing. Thank you for your continued understanding and for helping students stay on track. This week's newsletter also includes important details about prom and graduation commencement. Please join us this Thursday evening for the State of the Schools presentation, led by Superintendent Chris Caleris and Treasurer Katie Henes. It will take place at North Olmsted High School beginning at 6:00 PM.
Important Testing Notes:
Unlike midterms, we will not have an open campus during state testing. However, students who are not testing are not required to attend lunch or study hall if those periods fall at the beginning or end of their school day.
Here’s an example of a testing day schedule and how it might impact arrival and dismissal times:
Tuesday, April 15 – Testing Schedule
-
Algebra I & Geometry Part 1: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
-
Lunch: 12:05 PM – 12:45 PM
-
1st Period: 12:48 PM – 1:19 PM
-
2nd Period: 1:22 PM – 1:53 PM
-
3rd Period: 1:56 PM – 2:27 PM
-
4th Period: 2:30 PM – 3:01 PM
Examples:
-
If a non-student has study hall during 1st period and their first class is 2nd period, they may arrive at 1:22 PM.
-
If a student’s last academic class is 3rd period and they have lunch or study hall during 4th period, they may leave at 2:27 PM.
🔴 Important Reminder: Students may not leave campus and return later if they have lunch or study hall between two academic classes. Doing so will be treated as a class cut, and disciplinary action will follow per the Code of Conduct.

Traffic Pattern for AM Drop-Off
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in improving the morning drop-off traffic flow. To help ensure a smooth process, please follow these guidelines:
- Use the outside lanes to drop off your student(s).
- After drop-off near the main entrance, immediately move forward to the PAC stop sign to allow others to drop off efficiently.
- Cars will merge before the PAC stop sign.
- From there, you may exit the campus via Butternut, Burns or Revere or continue wrapping around the stadium to exit via Middle School Drive onto Butternut.
- Please avoid cutting through the brick school bus lane to help maintain a steady traffic flow and prevent congestion.
For further clarification, please refer to the attached visual representation of the traffic pattern.
Thank you for your cooperation!
