Arkansas Bilingual Interpreter Credential in Education (ABICE)
ABICE is a professional training program and credential for bilingual adults in Arkansas who provide interpreter services in educational settings for families of children from birth through 12th grade. The credential is recognized in Arkansas by both the Department of Human Services, Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education (DCCECE) and by the Department of Education, Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

If English is not your primary language and you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, you may need an interpreter or document translation in order to have meaningful access to programs funded by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 requires recipients of Federal financial assistance to take reasonable steps to make their programs, services, and activities accessible to eligible persons with limited English proficiency.
