🍎 Meet the Teacher Night 🍎

Event Information

MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT

We hope that you are able to join us for 'Meet the Teacher Night' being held on Tuesday, July 30th from 4:30 PM- 5:30 PM. Please enter through the cafeteria to receive your child's first day packet. The packet will have a label on the front with your child's teacher and classroom number. 7th and 8th graders will have their schedules located within their packets.


Feel free to bring in and drop off in the classroom school supplies and meet your child's teachers. There will be tables set up in the cafeteria with the Cafeteria Manager, Choir and Band Directors, PTSA representatives and District Transportation Staff to help answer any questions.


We appreciate your support! We are excited to kick off another amazing school year!

As a reminder, families received an email to complete student(s) Required Return to School Forms. This email contained a unique code to access your student(s) information. Families received an individual email for each student(s) enrolled in the district.

Please complete, and respond promptly, so that the district will have the most accurate emergency contact information for your student(s), and verification Internet usage preferences.

Kindergarten Procedures

First day of school procedures for Kindergarten:

Kindergarten parents, please say goodbyes at the gym/cafeteria gate by the front entrance. All Kindergarten teachers will be waiting and ready to welcome new students at drop off. Our amazing PTSA has supplied a back drop especially for the occasion for first day pics!

Student Drop-Off Procedures

First day of school procedures for 1st-8th Grade:

As student safety is the top priority at Canyon Springs, parents will need to say their goodbyes at the front gate. However, there will be various staff members identified with a yellow vest that will assist in escorting students to class. As well, colored paw prints associated with the various grade level hallways will be placed on the sidewalk for students to follow. The colors for each hallway are indicated below:


  • Kindergarten: Yellow
  • 1st/2nd Grade: Red
  • 3rd/4th Grade: Blue
  • 5th/6th Grade: Purple
  • 7th/8th Grade: Green


Front gates will open upon the first bell at 8:00 AM; If your child is eating breakfast, they will be able to enter campus at that time to go to the cafeteria.


If using the parent drop-off lane please remain in your vehicle at all times, and have your child ready to depart the vehicle as soon as you enter the drop-off 'zone'. Only the parent drop-off lane can be used to drop-off students in a vehicle. Please do not drop-off students in the parking lot as it is a significant safety risk.


Following the first day of school, 1st-8th grade students will drop off their backpacks and go straight to the playground. Students will line up at their classroom at 8:10 AM.

Student Pick-Up Procedures

On full school days students will be released according to the dismissal times below:

*Kindergarten: 2:55 PM

*1st through 8th Grade: 3:00 PM


On early release school days students will be released according to the dismissal times below:

*Kindergarten: 1:25 PM

*1st through 8th Grade: 1:30 PM

Breakfast/Lunch Information

School Breakfast and Lunch Information

Canyon Springs offers breakfast and lunch for students at the prices listed below. Your child(ren) may qualify for free or for reduced-price meals based on the eligibility requirements outlined in the application link below.


  • Breakfast- $1.50
  • Lunch- $2.95
  • PLEASE NOTE: Breakfast is being served when the bell rings at 8:00 AM


Parents can add money to a student’s account in three different ways:

  1. Cash: Students may buy meals with cash or add cash to their account in the cafeteria.
  2. Check: Students may bring a check with their student ID number and current phone number on it to the cafeteria to be added to their account.
  3. Online: Payments can be made at EZSchoolPay.com using Visa, MasterCard, or Discover card for a fee of $3.00 per transaction. Parents can also use EZSchoolPay to view student spending and set up low balance reminders at no cost.

The 2024-2025 sports seasons are as outlined below:


  • Fall- 7th & 8th Girls Softball/7th & 8th Boys Baseball
  • Winter- 7th & 8th Girls Volleyball/ 7th & 8th Boys Volleyball & 5th-8th Grade Girls and Boys Cross Country
  • Spring- 7th & 8th Girls Basketball/ 7th & 8th Boys Basketball & 6th-8th Grade Girls Spiritline


All paperwork must be completed in the Register My Athlete Account before your student can participate in tryouts.

Communication with Staff

Canyon Springs has implemented email office hours to ensure that we maintain a healthy work/life balance. Teachers will respond to emails and phone calls Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM, during their prep, and again from 3:30 PM-5:00 PM. Please allow 24 hours for a response.

Please use the attendance line number to call in ALL student absences prior to the beginning of the school day when possible. In your message, please include the following information:


  • First and last name of person calling in the absence and relationship to student
  • Parent contact phone number

  • Reason for absence (personal or illness)
