As I write the last newsletter for the 2023-2024 school year, I find it hard to believe that the school year is coming to a close on June 18th. I feel so fortunate to be a part of the Potter Road community. Our school is truly a special place. I am so proud of our students' accomplishments this year. Their hard work and big hearts make it a privilege to the principal at Potter Road.

With summer on our doorstep, I hope that our students and families take the time to rest, relax, and enjoy the slower pace of summer. Over the summer, Potter Road will be getting a new playground! Details will be shared with families about a late summer ribbon cutting ceremony for our new playground. Additionally, class placement letters will be mailed to all families on August 9th.

Our students had a BLAST at Potter Road's first every Discovery Hour! Students enjoyed a variety of activities that included Zumba and smoothie making, coding, bracelet making, tie dying, solar cars, volleyball, etc. Encouraging student voice, choice, and agency is important for our students. Students were thrilled to work with different peers and teachers!

Celebrate the end of the year with us on June 17th starting at 6:00 p.m. at the End of Year Picnic and Festa Junina! Details are included in the attached flier.

Many of our students are looking forward to playing video games this summer. Heather Camarota, Potter Road ESL Teacher, has created a very informative guide to navigating the world of video games safely. A link to her newsletter can be found below.

School Begins: 9:05am

School Dismissal: 3:20pm

Early Release Dismissal: 12:55pm (lunch is served)

Half-Day Dismissal: 12:20pm (lunch is not served)

Note: Vehicles are prohibited from entering the school grounds between 9:00 AM - 9:25 AM and 3:00 PM - 3:25 PM to allow for the safe arrival and departure of buses and students.
