This week 3rd period representatives attended House of Reps to learn about WASC and upcoming important events incluidng Open House and the Canned Food Drive. On Friday night, the Varsity Football team defeated La Quinta High School in the CIF Quarterfinal game making PHS history as the 1st PHS football team to make it to the semifinal round. They will travel to Ganesha High School on Friday 11/22 at 7pm. Congratulations to Coach Juarez and the team and thank you to our Band and Drill teams for their support. Yesterday, our Cyberpatriots teams competed and did very well and we will be wishing our PHS Cheer and Song teams the best of luck in their competition on Saturday 11/23 at Damian High School.

Attention All Students!

The Whittier Union High School District is hosting a special event on November 20, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Whittier HS Vic Lopez Auditorium to celebrate Native American Heritage Month.

This event will feature a Native American Dance Experience and Explanation. All students are welcome to attend this cultural celebration.

If you would like to participate, you must pick up a permission slip from the Curriculum Office. The completed permission slips are due by 3:00 PM on Friday, November 15th. The first 50 students to submit their permission slips will be able to attend the event.

Transportation will be provided. Don't miss this opportunity to learn about and experience Native American traditions and culture.

If your student has overdue textbooks, please return them to our Learning Materials office as soon as possible. Additionally, if they have more than one Chromebook, please return them to our Computer Lab. Overdue materials may result in fines and limit students from walking at graduation.

Who We Need:

• 8 parents/students to help welcome and greet families from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• 10 parents/students to share their positive experiences with families during the same time slots.
• Everyone is encouraged to join in welcoming TK-8 families on this special day.

Rewards for PHS Families:

• Earn 4 stamps on loyalty cards by:
• Bringing another family to the event.
• Volunteering to greet or share experiences with families.
• Upcoming Raffle Dates: December 12, February 20, and May 29.

Earn 2 additional stamps for:

• Donating nacho chips or cheese for the PTSA fundraiser.
• Donating a $10 gift card for raffle prizes (e.g., coloring contest, PHS swag, participation). Please send gift cards to the PHS Horizons Office.
