October Mental Health Series
As a recipient of the Stronger Connection grant, District Five is able to partner with an organization called The Cook Center. The Cook Center is a non-profit organization that focuses on supporting children, families, and school by offering resources, training, and support. The support is offered through online coaching sessions with family, professional development with staff, monthly mental health parent workshops, and online resources for all. This site was developed by licensed therapists that provides trusted and specialized courses, professional support, and a safe community for parents to learn how to support their child. Parents can also get answers to mental health questions, especially anxiety, depression, self-worth, grief and loss, suicide ideation, self-harm, bullying, family strife and other mental health concerns.
RED RIBBON WEEK
October is Bully Prevention and Drug Awareness Month. Red Ribbon Week serves as a catalyst to educate students. It is a reminder that everyday people make significant contributions to their community by making healthy decisions, being the best they can be, and living drug and bully-free lives. October 21st - 25th, CIS students, faculty and staff will participate in Red Ribbon Spirit Week. Please encourage your student(s) to get involved and make it the best week ever!
Veteran's Day Parade
CIS, in conjunction with the American Legion, CES, LMES and PWES, is coordinating a Veteran's Day Parade for Nov. 11th. We would love to have the opportunity to honor relatives of our CIS students, who are veterans, for their service. If you, or a relative, are a veteran and would like to participate, please fill out this form.

The club will meet twice monthly for friendship, fun, and festivities! The day and time will be determined once we finish working out a few details.
If your family is Military-connected or has a Veteran in the family please CLICK HERE to fill out a Google form letting us know more about you. We would love to know more about our amazing Veteran family population and invite your child to join the fun!
