GPCSD Education Foundation

The GPCSD Education Foundation received a grant from International Paper to help support the STEM program at St. Patrick Catholic School. Thanks to the funding the students from St. Patrick and St. Clement schools will have access to STEM learning opportunities.

The GPCSD Education Foundation has received $23,000 for assessments for Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools Students. Thank you to the organizers and supporters of this amazing initiative by the Iceberg Tournament.

This year for our “ Spreading the Love” December Campaign the Education Foundation delivered 74 meal hampers to families within the Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools in need of a little extra help this Christmas Season. As part of this campaign the GPCSD Education Foundation's GP Schools Snack Program provided funding for each school to provide students and staff with a Christmas luncheon.

The GPSCD Education Foundation also delivered each school in our district a basket which was given to one lucky student who was caught doing an act of kindness during the month of December.

The GPCSD Education Foundation oversees the operation of the GP Schools Snack Program. Over 140,000 meals were served to students in our district this school year. Through our emergency lunch and classroom bins we help support the food needs of all students.

During KMSC Law LLP's Annual Charity Event the GPCSD Education Foundation offers the "Feed a School Breakfast" as a live auction item for the event. This year 4 community businesses purchased the "Feed a School Breakfast." Thank you to these businesses, KMSC Law, Overhead Door, Fletcher Mudryk, and MNP and the event host KMSC Law for your continued support of the GP Schools Snack Program.

Each year the Grande Prairie & District Catholic School Education Foundation supports special projects of a one-time nature that enhance the educational experience for students. In 2023/2024 $15,000 was awarded to help fund special projects in our school district.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2024/2025 school year.

The GPCSD Education Foundation offers the opportunity for our District's graduating students to apply for over $17,000 in scholarships this year. Selections will be made in September 2024. The diverse scholarship criteria open up a wide range of student opportunities.

The Education Foundation partnered with the Northwestern Alberta Foundation through the Mighty Peace Youth fund to donation 10 iPads and cases to the Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools Inclusive Education Program to assist students with communication challenges. It takes a community and we are blessed to have an amazing community of supports for our students.

The Education Foundation received $5000 from The Swan City Rotary Club. These funds will go to support the Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools - high school students through the Career Academy. The Education Foundation has partnered with the Career Academy to provide high school students with opportunities to open doors to future careers. Funding will be used to help with dual credit courses, safety programs and safety equipment to give students freedom to experience different academic choices, work experiences and trades through the Registered Apprenticeship Programs.
