Congratulations, Girls Bowling Team!
We are thrilled to announce that our Girls Bowling team has been recognized by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association's (NYSPHSAA) Scholar-Athlete Team Award Program for the Winter 2025 sports season! This prestigious award celebrates outstanding academic achievement alongside athletic excellence.
The NYSPHSAA has awarded our Girls Bowling team with a Scholar-Athlete Team certificate, which will be presented to the team. This recognition demonstrates the commitment of our student-athletes to both their sport and their studies.
Academic Excellence Recognized!
In addition to the team award, we are also proud to announce that several individual student-athletes at Arcadia High School have been named Scholar-Athletes. This recognition highlights their exceptional performance in the classroom.
What Does This Mean?

Message from the Principal
Dear Arcadia Families,
Thank you to all the parents and guardians who joined our recent family listening session. Your honesty, insights, and shared experiences are deeply appreciated, and we’re committed to using this feedback to make meaningful changes that support all of our students.
Relationships Matter
Families shared the importance of students feeling seen, known, and supported by adults in the building. Especially for our 9th graders, we heard loud and clear that more opportunities are needed to build relationships between students and staff. We are exploring ways to introduce staff more intentionally to students and increase positive adult-student interactions throughout the year.
Balancing Rules with Relationships
The group emphasized the need for clear expectations and accountability and the importance of relationships and support for students who need it. We agree that accountability and restorative practices must go hand-in-hand, and we’re working to grow our use of both approaches in tandem.
Celebrating the 90%
Many families expressed a desire for more focus and support for the vast majority of students who are working hard and growing at Arcadia but feeling overlooked. We’re taking steps to better highlight academic achievements, strong attendance, and positive contributions—through things like this newsletter, Titan TV, and increased recognition across our school platforms. Please stay tuned!
Concerns About Safety & Communication
We heard your worries about school safety, how incidents are communicated, and how your voices are responded to when concerns arise. Your feedback underscores the need for better, more timely communication and for our team to listen more fully and follow up consistently. We're reviewing how we respond to incidents, share updates, and build trust—especially during challenging moments.
A Desire for Stronger Partnership
Your voices reminded us that high school families want to stay connected and involved, but communication methods need to reflect the pace and reality of high school life. We’re looking at how to improve tools like social media, newsletters, and parent updates to be more timely and personal.
Closing from the Principal:
Thank you again for everyone's participation and invaluable input during our recent family listening session. Your willingness to share your thoughts and experiences is deeply appreciated. Our administrative team and teacher leaders have already begun to shape our actions as a result of your feedback. We are committed to fostering a school community where every student feels seen, supported, and valued.
I want to express my sincere gratitude for everyone's partnership in this journey. We are dedicated to implementing changes to ensure that Arcadia High School continues to be a place where all students can thrive. Your feedback is a gift, and we are truly thankful for your trust and collaboration.
We look forward to continuing this important dialogue and working together to build an even stronger Arcadia community.
With sincere appreciation,
Christina Wawrzyniak

UPCOMING EVENTS
We Want to Hear from YOU!
On Thursday, 3/20/25, we will be holding a parent meeting to discuss the current state of Arcadia High and to address concerns that we know parents have around safety and security. At this meeting, we will be updating families on policies and procedures regarding safety and security, parent communication, addressing recent events, and supports we have in place to help all of our students.
In addition, we want to hear directly from parents about your concerns with the above areas, as well as your ideas on how they can be addressed. The Arcadia administrative team will be present, Center for Youth staff, parent coordinators, along with administrators from district office, including Assistant Superintendent Dr. Baker.
The meeting will start at 6pm here at Arcadia High in the library. Students should be called in for absences or early dismissal as soon as possible.
Students who are absent will be considered as having chronic absenteeism, missing 10% or more of school. This can have a drastic impact on your student’s education.
Research shows that school attendance can predict graduation even better than test scores.
