Principal's Message
Good evening MCHS Families,
Looking forward to a great week! As a reminder, we have a 4-day week; there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, September 27th in observance of Native American Day.
I'd like to thank those that have been utilizing the library space appropriately and would like to share that I am vey happy to have not received any calls this week. As a reminder to all, the library is intended to be a quiet place for studying and reading. All students need to be respectful of themselves and others while in the library. When reminded to use a lower volume, students need to abide to these requests as it is a privilege to have such elaborate study areas and resources at hand.
With gratitude,
Mrs. Vanessa Jara
Principal

College & Career
Dear Parents/Guardians of Middle School and High School students,
We are very excited to introduce our new college and career readiness platform, SchooLinks!
All of the SchooLinks features are designed with students in mind to help them become career, college, and life-ready. As guardians, you will have access to SchooLinks through your own account. This allows you to join your students in their career and college exploration process and discuss their future with them.
SchooLinks allows you to have informed conversations with your students by:
- Viewing your student’s career interest, strength, and mindset assessments
- Seeing what colleges and careers your student has favorited
- Comparing college costs and explore expected financial aid, scholarships, and out-of-pocket expenses
See this document to learn more about how to access your account.
Breakfast & Lunch
During breakfast & lunch, students are expected to get their food and then quietly eat at the seats provided in the area and/or take their food to a designated area such as Danner or any of the other tables around campus. Under NO circumstances should students be taking food into the Goleman Library.
Please make sure that students are cleaning up after themselves!
Master Agreement
Update:
Shirts will be passed out THIS week along with a lanyard and pen!

Chromebook Insurance
Please review the following message from the District:
We want to bring to your attention the importance of discussing the proper care of district-issued student Chromebooks with your children. We have observed an increase in incidents involving damage, often linked to carelessness or misuse. As we address these situations, we want to remind you of the importance of engaging in discussions with your child about the proper care of their district-issued Chromebook. Students will be held responsible for any damages, and charges may apply for repairs. Principals will conduct thorough investigations in collaboration with students to ensure fair outcomes. Additionally, please remind your students to charge their Chromebooks overnight, ensuring they are ready for the next day's learning activities. Your involvement in these discussions is crucial, and we appreciate your attention to these matters.

COVID-19 Guidelines for California Schools (K-12)
Recent updates in the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) COVID-19 guidelines for K-12 schools: The revised guidance now allows individuals who test positive for COVID-19 but remain asymptomatic to return to work and school without the need to stay home. However, it is crucial to note that students showing symptoms are strongly encouraged to wear masks. This adjustment in guidelines reflects a more flexible approach to managing the virus, aiming to strike a balance between public health concerns and our evolving understanding of its impact. For additional information, please read updated California Division of Public Health – COVID-19 Isolation Guidance by following this link: https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/COVID-19/COVID-19-Isolation-Guidance.aspx. Your ongoing cooperation is vital in ensuring the safety of our school community.

We realize that our students are on a college campus, where the style of dress is more varied, however, MCHS adheres to the dress code policy of Lodi Unified School District
- Clothing that is skin tight or revealing back, midriff, cleavage, or buttocks (ex: spaghetti straps, tube top, crop top, muscle tanks, shorts with less than a 3 inch inseam, micro-mini skirts, etc.)
- Clothing that exposes underwear or undergarments worn as outerwear (ex: clothing with excessive holes, bralettes, sports bras, etc.)
- Headwear (excluding for religious purpose) may not be worn in class or indoor activities (ex: caps/hats, scarves, beanies, stocking caps, do-rags, wave caps, etc.)
- Attire showing pictures or messages promoting drugs, sexploitation, discrimination, profanity, or violence (ex: Playboy, Cookie, Backwoods, etc.)
- Gang-related clothing or insignia; wearing majority of one color (ex: predominately red or blue clothing)
Students that are out of dress code will be asked to make adjusts to their outfits. If the appropriate adjusts cannot be made, then the student will be sent to the office: T-shirts will be provided as needed. If necessary, parent/guardian may be called to bring a change of clothes.
Delivery Policy
Deliveries WILL NOT be accepted and/or delivered to students unless there is an emergency. We DO NOT accept flowers, balloons, commercial/retail food deliveries or other items for delivery to students.
Library Policy
It is customary that 9th graders are not allowed in lounge areas around campus. The entrance of the library has be renovated to a lounge area; therefore, 9th grade students should not be in library lounge area. They are more than welcome to appropriately use the rest of the library.
