Hawk Happenings
December 2024
Dear Spring Lake Families,
Our Character Trait for December is: Compassion
"Compassion is the desire to be kind and helpful to others."
December is going to be an exciting month filled with fun activities and important events. Here's what you need to know:
1. PTA Sponsored Holiday Book Fair (December 9th-13th). This is a great time for students to explore new books and for families to find gifts for the holidays. Please see the flyer below for dates and times the book fair will be open.
- Come take photos with Santa and Buddy the Elf on Monday, Dec 9th from 5-7 PM. Our Holiday Book Fair will also be open during this time.
2. SEP Conferences - Thursday, Dec 12th: This is a wonderful opportunity to discuss your child's progress with their teacher. Please click on the following links to sign-up for a time slot. Kindergarten teachers are sending out their own sign-ups:
3. SEP Dinner Help: The PTA is seeking volunteers to help bring food items for teacher dinners during SEP Conferences. Please use this link to sign-up if you are available to help. Thank you for your support!
4. Teacher Wish Lists: During SEP Conferences, you will find a Christmas tree outside each teacher's classroom. The ornaments on the trees list items that teachers are wishing for. If you like to contribute, simply take an ornament and purchase the item and then have your child(ren) bring it to their teacher. Participation is optional.
5. Colder Weather: As temperatures drop, please ensure your child(ren) are dressed warmly with appropriate winter clothing. This will help them stay warm, dry, and comfortable during outdoor recess and activities. Here is the link to our cold and inclement weather policy.
6. Lost and Found: Please check our lost and found area for any missing items. All unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity over Christmas Break.
7. Christmas Break: Our school will closed from Dec 23rd - Jan 3rd. Please note that there will be an early dismissal at Noon on December 20th.
We hope you and your family have a joyous, safe, and restful Christmas Break. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Go Hawks!!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Coral Lee Findlay
