Incoming 6th & 9th Graders
New iPad Insurance Policy
Technology Announcements
iPads for current 9th grade students will be refreshed during Freshman Orientation at both Athens & Troy High Schools. Students will return their old devices for a new iPad with case and charging accessories. Freshman Orientation will take place on August 19 at Athens and August 21 at Troy High. (NOTE: There's a change to Troy High's date from what was originally stated prior weeks).
How students will prepare for iPad refresh:
· Bring old iPad (in iPad case) - backed up
· Must turn off all passcodes, alarms, and screen time restrictions
What happens if my student’s iPad is damaged or missing?
Fees may be assessed based on evaluation and 2023-24 iPad insurance. For any questions, please contact our TSD tech services at 248-823-5092
My student is new to the district and does not have an iPad to turn in at orientation.
Our team will have a list of new 9th grade students. These students will receive their new iPad at Freshman Orientation.
My child will miss orientation – how will they get their new iPad?
Students can turn in their old iPad and receive a new one by visiting TSD Tech Services, after Orientation, or through their Building Computer Tech (within their building) if school is already in session.
Can we buy iPad Insurance at Orientation?
All 9th grade students will also receive instructions on how to purchase this year’s Optional Annual iPad Insurance. iPad damage or loss that is incurred prior to orientation will be charged to the prior iPad Insurance program. We strongly encourage students to take good care of their newly assigned iPad, as they will keep the same one throughout high school.
If you should have any questions, please reach out to our TSD Tech Help Desk (248) 823-5092 or help@troy.k12.mi.us
GoFan App for Home Sporting Events at Stadiums
Dear Troy School District Parents,
New this year, the Troy School District is pleased to announce that we will be using GoFan digital ticketing for home sporting events held in the stadiums. Fans can purchase tickets online through the GoFan App (available for Apple & Android) or by presenting a card or mobile payment option at the ticket gate. All major credit cards are accepted, along with Apple Pay and Google Pay.
The new ticketing policy allows the Troy School District to operate a more efficient and professional ticket gate while improving the fan experience. Buying tickets online allows fans to access and share tickets easily by email or text without standing in line.
Fans are encouraged to buy tickets online prior to reaching the facility. For your convenience, signage will be set up at the venue to help fans navigate an online purchase quickly and easily.
You can also purchase tickets from a web browser by visiting GoFan pages for Troy High and Athens.
Troy High GoFan Page: https://gofan.co/app/school/MI10104?location=Home.
