Summer Reading
Upper Moreland Primary School
Dear Families,
With the end of the school year quickly upon us, we know that you are making plans for your child’s summer activities. While summer break means fun and relaxation, studies show that most students experience a loss of reading skills over the summer months. To combat this “summer slide”, check out our summer reading activities!
For families that need translated versions of the bingo sheets, you have the options of making a copy of the Google document which will enable the translations feature under the TOOLS bar or you can contact the school office at 215-325-1400 to request a printed, translated version.
Summer Reading Bingo
During the school year, students are often made to read on a specific topic. Summer is a great opportunity to read topics that they are interested in, so they can discover a love for reading. Have them “taste” or try a wide range of different genres of books. To help you out, we’ve put together a SUMMER READING BINGO board that you can introduce to your child this summer! The challenge is for them to either complete as many boxes as possible or complete a BINGO (Vertical, Horizontal, or Diagonal). Bring your completed BINGO board to school on the first day and your student will receive recognition for reading over the summer! Click here for your BINGO board: K-2 Bingo Board!
