This week we celebrated Paraprofessional Appreciation Day! MPE has 14 of the absolute BEST parapros around. These educators provide support in multiple ways throughout each day, displaying a positive attitude, a great deal of flexibility and a genuine sense of love and care for our Mustangs. I am so grateful for them and take this opportunity to say THANK YOU for all you do!

Each year, we ask parents to provide input regarding their child's class placement for the upcoming school year. While we cannot accommodate every request, we make every effort to place students with teachers whose characteristics best match their individual needs. Although we ask that parents refrain from requesting specific teachers, you may describe the personality traits and teaching styles that work well for your child.

In grades 3–5, our classes are departmentalized, meaning students will have a homeroom teacher, an ELA teacher, and a math teacher. We strive to have the homeroom teacher also serve as one of the student's core subject teachers; however, due to scheduling constraints, this is not always possible.

Please use the Parent Input Form to provide input for your child's placement. This form is for rising 1st-5th grade students only. A separate form for rising K students will be shared at Kindergarten Round Up!

Classroom Group Pictures:

• Every student in the class will be included in the group picture.
• Classroom Group Pictures are available for pre-purchase with no shipping charges either online or returning the order form with payment on picture day.

Individual Portraits:

• Individual spring personality-posed portraits will only be taken of your student if you PREPAY for a package either online or by bringing an order form to the photographers on picture day. No late orders or payments are accepted.
• All prepaid packages will be returned to the school for your child to bring home approximately 2-3 weeks after picture day.

Exciting news, everyone! We’re launching the Wait Until 8th campaign at MPE!

This initiative encourages families to delay giving their kids smartphones until at least the end of 8th grade. Together, we can reduce the pressure on our children and help them thrive in a more distraction-free environment. The pledge becomes "active" once 10 or more families from the same grade sign up, which means you won’t be alone in this commitment. Join us in saying “not yet” to smartphones and give our kids a few more years to grow and explore!

When your child is absent from school due to illness or an appointment, please be sure to send an excuse note to mpeattendance@fultonschools.org. This will ensure our attendance office receives your excuse and can update your student's record accordingly. Remember that teachers can only mark students absent or present and cannot update absences. Absences will be updated within a few days of the excuse note being sent. I realize that the attendance letters detailing number of days absent can be unsettling. Please note that these are sent automatically from the district. Although they do have my name in the signature line, they are not from me. I do not send them or know when they are being sent. I am happy to help clear up any discrepancies found in your child's attendance record. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time for assistance at richardsona3@fultonschools.org.

If for some reason you have not registered with Pick Up Patrol and need a registration link, please send an email to Shannon Anderson at Andersons5@fultonschools.org. Remember, you must submit all transportation changes using the app. The default transportation will be how they normally go home. If your student normally goes home a certain way, there’s no need to enter it on that day. Plan changes are only for when it differs from the default plan. Also, if you need a carpool or walker number, email andersons5@fultonschools.org or call the front office. Thanks so much!

Being behind the scenes is such a fun-filled, unique and rewarding experience. If you’d like to share your child’s experience, learn more about production, lend your special talents, or just dip your toe in to test the water, let us know! These roles must be filled for the show to go on, and it is one of the many things that makes MPE Extraordinary

We are specifically looking for:

(1) Co-Director

(1) Assistant Director

No experience needed for these two roles!! This role only requires enthusiasm and passion to create something amazing with the kids. All instruction and guidance is provided from the director on what to do, you just need to communicate this to the children and be able to help run the rehearsal one or two times a week and teach the children the information you have been given .

(1) Co-Producer

(1) Assistant Producer

No experience needed for these two roles!! If you are organized and enthusiastic you are great for this role. You will help co-ordinate the organization for auditions, callbacks and rehearsals. You will help handle communications with the parents and staff and other logistics leading up to the performance

(2) Co-Costume Leads

(1) Costume Assistant

To help in the sourcing and co-ordination of costumes for the performances

(2) Choreographers

(2) Choreography Assistants

You can create the moves or we can provide you with a video of the full dance routine to teach to the kids

Every Friday our amazing Dad's Club relieves the teachers for a morning of carpool take over. Come join in on the fun opening car doors for the students. The kids love having the dads there while music is playing and the blow up man is dancing.
